I don't think that it isn't that we haven't kept our minds open about it, those of us who have ultimately chosen not to go. It is probably for a variety of reasons, some people may choose not to, some people may not be allowed to.

I personally thought about it at length when I first heard the decision before I decided that other things were more important to me. Keep that in mind also, not everyone goes on the internet just for some pixel horses. I don't want to waste my time and energy or horsy's time (which she has little of already and needs for other things) registering them just to have them sit and do nothing, rotting away on DA. There is no reason to join cause I know I won't be active. I just choose to leave, its not the end of the world for people not to want to go to DA XDD

What I said is that not everybody has the time or is comfortable around DA. If you do or are, then you can freely give it a try. I personally have no problem with DA, I just can’t see it as the right place for my equids and thus I’d rather not register them there for nothing. I have more important stuff to care about then just “giving it a try” and making my characters something I’m not ok with.

When Horsy said “But now when it is needed most to get equids off the ground you all leave. DA itself is a great site with friendly people. Please give it a chance.” it sounded as if we are all ungrateful for the changes, so I said those things to keep in mind that this decision was practically thrown at us and thus not everybody agreed with it. So if part of the community chose not to follow the species on DA, it’s basically just a consequence of the change. Trying to get those people to register their equids only to let them gather dust there later won’t change a thing.

I don't mean to try and persuade anyone.
It's your preference to stay on CS, Move to DA or leave
    equids completely.

I most certainly don't mean to force anyone into
something they're not comfortable with or assume
those of you who wish to stay on CS aren't keeping an
    open mind either.

That is true Amigo, it was kinda sprung onto us. I guess
the fact that it is Horsy's species and whatever she decides
is final, stuck in my head. So I was ok with the move. But
I am going to support them on DA, as it is true, she needs
some help to get them kick started over there. Nothing is
    wrong with your decisions.

I think we should just try to agree on the point that those who feel comfortable with registering their equids should do so, and those who wish not to move theirs for whatever reasons should not. I can understand either side and I'm sure everyone has good reasons for their decision. I personally think it's still worth moving them, even if not all of us will follow (not meaning they will love WMEs any less! =] ). I'm sure that they'll still make it on dA as a species as they'll surely find loads of fans on there, additionally to those of us who will participate in the move. And I'm also sure that the WME community on here will make it as well and still be a nice place to post art and stuff. ^^

If everyone has this attitude then I won't bother completing the equid group on DA. Without the continued support of you guys they will die out. You have been great so far and extremely supportive and I thank you for it, on my hands and knees.

But now when it is needed most to get equids off the ground you all leave. DA itself is a great site with friendly people. Please give it a chance. I know it scared me when I first joined, and now I really enjoy it. Even though its bigger and I went from a big fish in a small pond to a small fish in a big pond. But I love it and it opens itself better to WME's. It will give people more freedom.

So please, rather then shunning DA give it a chance.

The thing is, WME's have plenty of support! The vast majority of people here have joined up, the only people 'leaving' are the ones who a) can't join DA at all (due to computer issues or parental restriction) or b) hose who simply don't want to move to DA for personal reasons. There's probably, what, 5? 6? people who aren't going to DA, while the WME group on DA already has 106 members! So it's not like everyone is running for the hills. Plus, mostly everyone who is staying on CS has still said they're going to say involved in the community, so it's not like everyone's abandoning ship.

You have to understand that not everyone has had great experiences with DA. You've found a great community, and that's awesome! Sadly, I've spent too many years on DA to like it. I've seen too many screw-ups from the staff and too much of the bad side of DA to like it anymore. I have nothing but bad memories of the place, and thats why I'm not going. Not because of anything you yourself have done or not done!
I'm not angry about WME's moving to DA. I know it'll give them a lot more exposure and I'm glad for that! I really hope with all my heart that WME's keep on growing and become big. I'll just be happy to watch it all from the sidelines, is all.

Uh-oh...

I hate joining in on something when I feel I may get yelled at for adding onto this conversation that I feel might be getting out of hand *hides under rock* but I feel I need to get my word in, too.

I'll be honest... I was very uncomfortable with the move. And my friend who was working so hard to get 200 posts to adopt one had gotten 20 posts away from her goal only to have WMEs discontinued on here. But, I love my baby so much that I was willing to do most anything to show that. I wasn't going to be "satisfied" letting all my plans for Charlie die because of the move. I want him to have foals, and his foals to have foals. I want to make sure he is remembered. That I am remembered for helping new people find a place in their heart for the species like I did.

I just found WMEs around November last year, and didn't really get into the Community until I was planning a breeding for my first WME. You guys are a part of my family now; you guys have helped me get out of my depression and all your positive comments inspired me to become a better artist. I didn't fall in love and dedicate many days to this community and this species to give up on it a few short months later just because there would be new rules and things would get uncomfortable to start, but by no means was I going to leave those who choose not to move behind. Now I see the move as a way to expand my family. I love all you guys, and seeing how you are all reacting differently and starting to clash against each other is killing me.

I think Horsy is very brave to move this species to DA. Yes, she may lose many followers of the species because they don't want to move. Yes, things will be messy, slow and probably uncomfortable for a while to start out. Yes, the move was sudden, but at least Horsy is not abandoning the species. I like the opportunity we all have to choose to stay or go, or both, and we all should respect each others decisions to stay or go (and I'm not saying you're not). But who cares what site they are on? We shouldn't blame Horsy for not having enough time for both CS and DA-some of us won't be moving because of the same reason. We should be proud that we were here to allow the WME species to grow so big that it was able to expand!

We need to look at it in a different light. We were very open and welcomed so many people into the fan club (including myself!) and that is how we got so big was because of our kindness and our love for the species! We need to make the DA people feel the same way, or at least support Horsy with the move. It kills her to see you guys clashing just as much as it kills me. You are my family, and I can guarantee that to Horsy, you guys are the foundation of her species. I feel the species will do just fine with the few people that are moving, but if we don't at least support her decisions, then why should she feel the need to move them at all? I love the species, and even if I had decided NOT to move to DA, I still wouldn't want to see the species die out.

I don't want anyone to take offense to this, because this is NOT pointed at anyone, this is just covering my feelings over many issues arising in this conversation. I know some of you might want to comment on parts of this about how they see it differently, and that is fine. But I do think the move has been blown out of proportion, and I can only hope that I can still have a family here in the fanclub that I can look forward to chatting with everyday and sharing my art with. Sadly I can see the WME species dying out here on CS, same with the fanclub, because of the move. We still love the species. We will always share that. And if we want the memory of a great period -where WMEs roamed the pages of CS-to be remembered, we can't give up on each other. Not after all the work we put into the species.

You guys have NO idea how much this community means to me...please don't let it go to waste.

^ well said, ~Trompy and I personally agree with what you're saying. Though it may have been nice to have a warning about the move but the fact of the matter is WMEs are going to dA regardless and personally I think the species will do just fine there.
I chose to move because I worked far too hard for the equids I have and I was lucky enough to get my first equid (after 9 months of attempts) from two very generous users who gave me a breeding slot. I moved my two to dA mainly so that another user could also experience the love of having a first equid, not for the site (frankly I never used it even before the move). Although I won't be totally active there, I still wanted to get my two over there for others to enjoy their children.
That was just my reasoning and I respect everyone else's choices and decisions.

That, was beautifully put together Trompy. ;u; <33
And I agree with it completely. OuO

I remember when I found out. xD I came online to check my bookmarks that first time, seen that the main thread said "Closed" in the title, and in that half a second it took me to dive for the page, I had a very, very bad feeling. Because the first thing I thought was that the whole thing was shutting down.
    </3
It made finding out about the move less intimidating for me, since I was still picking myself up from what could have been The Great WME Travesty of 2013. xD I have to say that I still wasn't completely unruffled about it, since my main internet home is CS, but anything was better than the alternative... o_o "cringe"

I have all kinds of breedings lined up for my babies,
plus I want to try for a certain readopt equid when that gets underway,
so I have no intentions of aborting my "Pre-DA" plans just yet. >:3

This made me wonder what happens if only one of our equid's parents is moving to da, then what? Will our equid just have one parent? Or is there more to it or just what?
