van wrote:i kind of wish people would stop focusing all their efforts on grey wolves, too. honestly, they're way over protected. it's great to want to conserve a species, but prohibiting it from simply being managed when it needs to be is a rather ridiculous thing to do, it seems that so many people are on about 'stopping wolf slaughter'. granted there are species of wolves that needed to be saved, protesting against wolf hunting as a whole certainly isn't going to help them.
but this isn't to say that being against hunting is dumb or anything, of course, because it's completely reasonable to think like that. it just seems that way too many people focus on wolves when there's plenty of animals who actually do need more support and help.
I agree. I feel like too many people want to stop wolf hunting because "Dey r so misundrstood!!!1! They r 2Kawii to die xD" But, when you show them a real endangered species like the Bigeye Tuna, they couldn't care less because it isn't cute.

I agree with all you guys!!!
Why help save gray wolves when there is lots of other animals that need more focus. Wolf hunting is not that big of a deal hunters have there rights it is trappers that I don't like , back on topic why save gray wolves , as we speak sharks fins are being cut off and put back in the water to drown!! And what about other causes that need help!! (I am still a wolf at heart though I am not saying wolves should be killed to you people that are against wolf hunting I love wolves)
@Onew~
sorry I didn't understand what you were saying with the buneez (lol

Iris. wrote:@Wolf~Love-
Why don't you like trappers? Hunters and trappers are pretty much equally fine to me, since most traps don't actually cause the animal harm and it is illegal to leave the trap without checking it for over twenty-four hours. Also, it's more helpful when tracking population since it allows scientists to track their migration patterns, etc. while being able to tag the animal (using tranquilization) and set them free later.
My problem is , not all trappers are like that they don't use them for research they are traps that they leave the wolf to suffer in a sharp trap it is alot of pain I was not talking about the cage ones I saw one picture and it was a wolf in a teeth trap

cage traps aren't used for wolves - i doubt there are really any big enough for them haha
'teeth/jaw' traps are illegal. the traps used these days are completely painless and are only designed to hold the animal - a lot of foot holds/coil springs are even completely painless to set off on humans. food holds are oftentimes used in research, tracking, tagging, etc. as iris said, and have played a major role in red/gray wolf conservation. c:
and granted there are some 'trappers' [poachers] who go by their own rules, dismissing the entire practice as inhumane doesn't make too much sense. though i do see why some people are against it, calling it inhumane isn't necessarily true.
