Dragon's name: Belle (Beautiful in french)
Gender: Female
Personality: Belle is a very timid little teacup, spending all of the time she can bear on her lilly pad or in the water. She is very creative, her main hobbies being art and singing. However, writing is also something she enjoys, she just has trouble finding the right words, as she does in conversations with other teacups.
Short story starring this dragon (Maximum 700 words):
(This will be told in Belle's POV)
I sat on the my Lilly pad, words and ideas flowing through my head. However, most of them resembled something I had already written before. I needed something new, a new inspiration for this. I looked around, the same pond I had been living in for years surrounding. The depressing thing is that it still looked the same as when she had first hatched. A small patch of reeds, a few Lilly pads, and plenty of fish. There was the occasional visiting frog or two, but I had learned long ago that they never had anything interesting to say. I sighed, hoping a little swim would help me out.
I stepped off my Lilly pad into the cool water, shivering as I submerged myself in it. I was never cold for too long, but it was easier to become accustomed to the water if you just dove in and swam. I searched the bottom of the pond, watching as the silver fish slid through the forests and canyons of algae. I loved swimming through them, discovering what all of the fish saw daily.
I pulled myself down into the water, which was always a bit murky near the bottom. I had never minded, but the fish seemed to, for they steered clear of it. There was a series of what I considered underwater mountains ahead, piles of rocks that little kids had tossed into the pond at one point or another. The larger fish of the pond found it the perfect hunting spot, so I normally didn't get too close. I might not be a fish, but I was still considered prey.
Suddenly, a flash of blue and silver caught my eye. It looked like a fish, but it wasn't like anything I had ever seen in this pond before. I followed it as it powered through the water, it's straight course unwavering as it plowed through algae and other underwater plants. Was the poor thing blind? Suddenly, it shot up and out of the water, no trace of it other than a small ripple at the surface. What was going on?
I returned to the underwater mountain, climbing to the top quickly and poking my head out from under the water. I was quick to spot a lone man on the shore, a large pole in hand. My brow furrowed in confusion, for I was unsure as to why this man would just be standing there on the shore.
I swam back to my Lilly pad quickly, letting the water drip down my slim figure as I watched this odd man. I then realized that the shiny "fish" I had seen earlier was just fake, and controlled by that long pole. I watched him as he tossed the fake fish into the water multiple times, not understanding until he pulled the line up with a real fish on it. He was quick to pull it off, laying it back into the water and letting it swim away again. I wonder what that was like for the fish...
That was it! The inspiration I needed! For once, I could thank a human for something. Now, off to write! (511 words)
