*reading 3 pages back* You had nice discussion when I was offline.
Trading value could be manipulated using such script. For example, with one of my friends we gift each other in one trade, not two. But what if we would send trade with one vr and one recent omg so common and then again and again, sending it from my account to hers and vice versa? Statistically: n trades for this pet would be fair, when m would be massive underpay and it's value will drop.
Also, all depend on Nick and Tess. They won't run such script. And I think they won't change rarities. There's more very common pets than very rare ones, so splitting rarities should be for them, too. But it would be more confusing for users.

Please discuss this in the new thread. But: No one cares about very common pets, because they are like worthless, but if you trade very rare pets, you really want to be sure what is the actual value of this pet...

Re the Grinners
Their low demand is just a myth - an example of Nickjr's post in action.
I traded off about 5 or so Grinners (various colours) over the past 2 years, all for fair trades. They were very easy to trade off because a lot of people have them wishlisted. People will give you them for a single advent because they are feeding into the demand myth and desperate to get rid of them, but you can easily turn around and trade them for their proper value of 2 mid advents by finding someone that specifically wants one, and offering it to them for a fair trade. I'd personally list Grinners as good demand, easy to trade off pets. I landed a ton through art and people trying to offload them; every single one of them I traded off rapidly. I'm not speaking about a single grinner here, I had quite a few of them (green, orange, red, pink & blue ones from memory). Also, I wasn't the kind to go around offering trades to people either, though I used to do so more then. Those kinds of trades came to me a lot of the time too - a lot of people seem to have Grinners wishlisted (although you need to have the colour they want).
Tribals are another pet that have a low demand stigma attached to them. I jumped up the rares list massively with a gearback tribal earlier this year - there are people out there that really love tribals. You just have to find them (or let them find you).
You don't have to play into demand if you don't want to. It took me a couple of months to trade some off my heart speckled rat. I paid it and an 08 advent for a pink balloon dog. Just because I couldn't trade it within a week doesn't mean it's not worth around that. It just meant that I needed to try harder to find someone specifically looking for it, that had something fair to offer. I also had to litter swap it for the variation they wanted, which was a simply enough task.

It is a myth. I know people who absolutely LOVE grinners, including myself. Usually I overpay for them. It is a huge myth. Thank you for clearing this up, hopefully people will see this.

I completely agree with this. I have made profits on grinners plenty of times because people offer them to me cheap thinking they have bad demand and then I can go and turn around and on occasion I've even received very significant overpay for them. :) Even now there are at least a handful of users who hoard grinners and are happy to pay what they're worth.
Really the only dogs I've ever found with what I would consider "bad" demand are the septembers list cake dogs. You can still get fair trades for them if you try hard enough but they are just not very popular in most cases and aren't easy to trade off. Every other dog on the list has just fine if not great demand. :)
Have a good day y'all. Please contact me here or on TH - I will no longer be using Discord!

... Well that's just wonderful. I traded my Grinner and a Roadkill for a Cake Dog(Overpay on their side), as I never got any trades for the Grinner. Well now. So far, I haven't seen the demand yet. I offered my Cake Dog for a BMD though, and they canceled saying it was unfair to them because of demand. Is the Cake Dog's demand another myth as well?

... I hate to admit it, but there's this little voice at the back of my head that's wondering how you guys managed to get fair trades; your names are either well-known (the experts) or stand out (staff-colored), so that voice at the back of my head is wondering if the other parties involved just decided to trade fairly since they were terrified of what would happen if they didn't trade fairly. I know I felt ridiculously awkward canceling a trade from a General Helper; I can't imagine what I'd feel like if I tried to actually work out a trade with a higher-up staff member or someone who is well-known on CS as a rarity expert/experienced trader...

I'd be interested in that DaDwarf, I always find myself letting people trade up off of me, mainly because I know they might enjoy the pet more xD It would be nice to see it done properly for a change
