the best i can provide is to just say it straight to the point. don't try to jump around or beat around the bush, just get straight to "hey, i've liked you for a while." or something along those lines.

Today I saw him, very awkward. He came up to our table, said hi to David (mutual friend) then sat down with us. He sat next to me, but twisted so he was facing me directly, between me & my ex crush (he doesnt know about that crush I dont think).

It was so awkward, both said hi when he sat down, but then thats it. I was trying to work, he was messing on his phone, and others were talking. I had no clue what to do, and no clue why he sat there, he doesnt normally.

I ended up moving to talk to a girl I know, but left my stuff, and he moved when I went. He just kept walking in and out for the rest of the time, no clue what he was up to. Any idea how to make it less awkward?

Oh and I should possibly add, the girl I went to talk to is Davids ex, things ended badly. And David was trying to set me and the guy up, which was working till things went odd, as the guy "got confused and didnt know what he wanted"

any help/advice/comments? anything will be good to hear

i'm in my first relationship at the moment, too.
so far, from the two months we've been together, i've collected that ultimately you're still best friends in the long run. except now you can hug or do whatever it is that a couple would do without worrying about getting too close. things might be strange at the start, but i'm sure you'll grow accustomed to things.
just remember that this guy is the same guy you've met and talked to before you were dating! nothing has changed, except for the fact that you two are now official.

Edit: My friend and I have previously come up with the idea of asking people in the library random questions (like "what's your favorite color?" or something like that) and somehow start a conversation with him out of that. But I don't want to annoy him if he's doing homework or something...

Homework tends to be safe. Or if he wears t-shirts then the stuff on them is good; if he'll wear it he'll probably talk about it. If you want to be bold and try to make him laugh, though, you could do something cheesy.
For example "How much does a penguin weigh? Enough to break the ice." It's awful, but sometimes a little shared laughter is all you need.

Is M your boyfriend? If so then talk to him seriously about this like, "Babe we need to talk..." But not too seriously! Or else he'd think you're breaking up with him.

M is quite hard to understand
he's really loud but kinda edgy sometimes.
I've talked to him alot about how he treats me
but he says im too sensitive and he's joking all the time
yah like ik im quite sensitive but the things he says are really rude sometime :/
