I mean when I take Baze out for play time, Bug immediately starts cuddling and grooming him when he's put back in the cage. I don't know what they would do without each other. (Which is why I am debating getting a third so that in a couple years when one does they still have a buddy.)
Sounds like a cool cage.
For some reason Bug loves to bite my cats paws. (She hasnt learnt to stop sticking them in the cage yet) though I had to laugh when Baze bit my pup on the nose yesterday! The dog jumped so far backwards then gave me this 'Why'd you let him do that mommy? That hurt' look before taking off and pouting.
Slide is about 1 year old. I know I should/should've gotten a second rat, but I was kinda pushing it was getting just her alone as my dad has a fear of rats.... But in saying that She does live in an area where she's open to everyone so everyone gives her treats and says hello to her and when she comes out of her cage she usually goes back in after a few minutes, or gets into hidey spots i.e. behind my drawers near all my cables...
My dog Trixie loves to hunt the rats in the shed (because they get into my horses feed and all that stuff), & she found Slide the other day. She was behaving so much and slide was being so noisey (Usually she's asleep when the dogs come inside during the day and she's asleep in her box), and I was like "Behave Trixie" and she was sitting there looking over and her whole body was twitching with excitement... It was quite funny to watch, but she behaved herself and I didn't have to deal with the dog breaking into Slide's cage. XD

Cleaned out rats at college today, there is no way they have been cleaned out for about 3 weeks at least. It was only being done because of the open day Sunday.
I got bitten by a female, they had babies and we were trying to get them out, I got one of the females and the other ran over and opened my thumb up. :/
Rat bites hurt!
It wasn't their fault, they were scared and trying to stand up for eachother. The only way to catch them is by grabbing the saddly.
But I was amazed that one rat would stand up for another like that, I found that pretty amazing although I now have a huge bite on my thumb that won't stop bleeding. :/

Wow, I haven't posted on here in forever.
Well, I lost Birdie a few days ago. It was very odd, she didn't seem to be sick at all, and all my other girls are doing exceptionally well (in fact Echo is putting back on a lot of weight and looks much better). It's still is upsetting though, even though I think my mother took his worse than I did, she really loved her.
Nyx has been very happy though, she spent three hours in my room yesterday, just running around, eating snacks my mom was giving her, and playing with the dog. She's been doing the same today, I think she's been in here for four and a half hours now, just having a good time. The cat's even been letting her wash him up, it's really cute.

Well Baze and Bug got free range time in my room today! Unintentionally...
I took their cage outside to clean it and left them in their travel carrier on my bed. Came back in for something and the carrier is empty and Baze and Bug are no where to be seen! Luckily they had just crawled down and were messing around in the spot that their cage usually sits. Scared the living daylights out of me! So I took them and the carrier into the living room and made my mom watch them until I finished.
I took some vanilla and watered it down then swished it around the bottom since it stunk. Fixed it right up, and now my cage is all nice and clean. So are Baze and Bug, since I gave them a quick dip in the water. Their cuddle cup is in the washer right now, so hopefully it comes clean when it's done.
I got some adorable pics that I'll have to show y'all later on.

I have a worrying question. What age can rats develop tumors from? Mouse has a lump under his throat (he's approximately 8-9 weeks now) and I am worried. I will be getting a vet appointment after the bank holiday (thats when I can get hold of the vets) but I am really worried it's a tumor because if it is then I've pretty much lost Mouse because vets won't do anything to remove it because of the risk :(
