I'm not going to start anything, I just agree with this and would also like to see the evidence of the Shima Foxes being traced but no-one seems to be able to produce any... I haven't even seen the piece of evidence mentioned in this post let alone evidence of other stages being traced :/

I have seen proof of the growing stage, not the adult stage.

It is a better save then sorry approach (since it is still unclear what images where not traced by those artists in question), and also it would break continuity with the pet litters if say only the adults would have the same new lineart, or just certain stages, since Yuls and Equis style are vastly different, makes sense to you?

And as already said, Shima and Equi have long left the site, I doubt that they still care for CS.

If continuity was indeed the issue you would think that Malk and Nick would be removed since their styles are very different. I could see difference in styles between growing and adult being an issue if they tried to do it now, but not when it is so far in the past.

DMCA claims are scary. Another site I go on had a DMCA claim filed against it (specifically, a dress to put on our avatars). The artists had 24 hours to either replace or remove the image. If someone came along and decided to file a DMCA complaint... -shudder-

Also, equimagine agreed to something that said her designs would be cs's property or whatever the official wording is. She's also going to continue to get credit in the archive for her designs. ^_^

On phone or else I would type more
Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.

Sadly not as scary as you might think. :( My girlfriend's art gets stolen all the time. We report the offenders but sites ( like facebook ) just take down the images, they don't ban so these people just post again and again and again. Neither of us have the time to search and report each image individually. She doesn't have the money to get a lawyer every time an 11 year old decides to claim ownership of all of her images and believe me this happens quite often.

The thing is, they can not just ignore the art theft, as nickjr said, the DMCA thing could cause a blackout/temporary shut down on CS, that is not funny at all.

The more I read your posts it seems you are defending art theft to be honest. :/ It seems you rather want CS to be shut down than to have some „feelings“ hurt from people that traced in the first place and are not even anymore active artists on the site and most likely don't care anymore anyway.

Malk and Nick did not trace their pets, they drew them themselves. You compare Pears with rotten apples now. Equi and Shima did trace, there is really no reason to defend them since there is evidence all around for it and they go through the change anyway.

See this is the thing, I can believe the evidence of tracing on the growing stage has been presented as a few people have seen it. I myself haven't but I doubt loads of people would lie about seeing it themselves. However, if no-one has seen evidence of the other stages being traced then why change them all? I have also now seen the evidence of Equi's traced image so am for the change... Even though I still don't like the ponies/drafts/horses I do like the Uni's and am now collecting them. The Shima's however... I am very fond of them and would like to see the tracing issues, maybe it would change my mind to see the evidence like it did with the Equimagine horses.

Oh I was waiting for this. No. I am in no way defending art theft. I have half a mind to link to my art page and say 'now point out where I am supporting art theft' because all my images are originals. I am defending genuine-non-theft efforts of the artists. I doubt very much that CS would be shut down if they kept images that were not traced. Untraced images are my focus not the traced ones. I'm not sure how many times I have to say this.

I know what it is like to be unappreciated as an artist.

Let's break this down.
Tracing is the issue. All traced images are removed. Even images that were not traced are removed by association because of faeries or something.
You claim continuity. I say if continuity was the issue all pets would have the same artist for their linework.
^^^ This =/= Supporting art theft ^^^

I was not saying that Malk and Nick traced their pets. You mentioned continuity and I was merely reflecting that their art styles do not fit the continuity of the site.

There you have it, you could have found it with a bit of digging yourself to be honest:

@Zoetrooper
Okay since you just seem to want to cause an argument on a topic that has already been decided by the admins and not read the past 190 pages where it has been discussed over and over (and the old threads) let me clarify a few things:

The continuity comment was aimed at the horse litters that are replaced, replacing just certain stages will let the archive and pets look weird, since one stage is like this and the other stage is like that since Equis and Yuls style are just different, they just don't match.

If Shima and Equi would have appreciated their staff position they would not have traced in the first place and put the so called "effort" you speak of in their lines to make original ones, and no trace them of photos.

That it from my side, if you want to argue further I recommend the read the older announcement thread because it is really beating a dead horse now.

I did dig. For a long time. I went through approx 200+ pages in the first thread about this change, I searched google images... It took me hours and never saw anything so I asked. But thank-you.

Malk and nick are in a realm of their own

Malk's adopts came from her separate site which was merged with CS

Nick is just... Nick  Originally for April fools day I think but people liked his pets so they made a comeback xD

The "continuity" thing is because the equines in question are all "equines" with no distinction (in the archive you'll see that Malik's and night pets are separate)

Going to class now sorry for awkwardness

^This.

Is a good explaination.

The only lines being changed are Equi's and the Fennec Foxes.
