Erin gave a weak laugh. "That's putting it mildly!" she remarked. She then shook her head. "Yeah, it worked... I mean, it always worked for a while. Then we'd take a break, and suddenly he'd surprise me again. It was kind of a vicious cycle." She thought about that for a moment. "God, I still loved him though."
