"Maybe I will. Pretend as if you never even existed. Pretend like none of you ever existed." Mason said. "Be careful what you wish for, it always effects others." He said, leaving.

Mya went after him. "Mason, please don't leave!" she said.

"Make her admit she is not old enough, and still needs help. Make her admit she needs my help!" Mason yelled. "D*** it, Mya. You won't do it! You want to help her. You think I'm being too harsh. Blame her that I'm gone. Not me." He said as he kept walking.

"Mason, you're daughter's practically laying in her grave right now, and you can't get over yourself enough to save her?!" she scoffed. "See you at the memorial."

"My daughter doesn't want my help!" Mason said.

"She said that she'd let you help her!" she said.

Mason sighed. "And then what? Once she gets better she's just going to pretend like she doesn't need us anymore."

"You don't know that, Mase," she said.

Mason sighed, sitting down. "I'm not ready for her to grow up, and get married. I wasn't ready for her to be a mom at 17. I knew it would happen eventually, but sitting there in the delivery room coaching her through it all made me realize, I was losing her. And now I've completely lost her. She wants nothing to do with me anymore." He said.
