She nodded understandingly.
"I see. Azure must have been really good to you if you thought of him as a father. That shows a lot of respect and dignity in him." she smiled.
Crystal finally sat down instead of crouching. Her legs were getting tired.

Victor nodded "yea, he was one of the only people here to treat me like a person, him, the king, and the queen" he looked at her when she sat down and smiled "so, I hope you don't mind me asking, but.. what happened to your father?"

"My father, passed when I was eight." she said sadly looking at the ground. "He had gotten very ill, and never made it through the night."
The memory of her father flashed back at her, and his pale cold face when she found him.
"But that was years ago. I try not to think about him that way." Crystal tried to place a smile on her own face. "Did you ever had a family.... before Azure? You don't have to answer if I'm out of line."

Victor frowned "I'm sorry, but no, I never really had a family, my dad was cruel, and my mother was about half that, I ran away when I was 6, I know that sounds insane, but I was alot smarter than most kids I knew, I was already writing like I was 12 and reading the same, also explains how I was always avoiding full grown men, huh Dennis?" he shout, from the guards room came a voice that said "shut up!" in a sarcastic tone, Victor laughed

She couldn't help but laugh at Dennis's response.
"Well, you do seem like the type who learn early." she smiled. "And avoiding guards like Dennis," she laughed lightly.
Crystal looked up from the ground and back at him. She had a big smile on her face.

Victor smiled at her, his hands dropped into his lap "uh, Crystal, you told me a secret, can I tell you one?" he asked and looked around, to see if anyone was nearby

"Yes you can. And I swear on my fathers grave, I will not tell." she vowed. Crystal looked at him with honest eyes.

Victor looked down, what he was about to say wasn't very 'knightly' as he saw it, so he wasn't really comfortable saying it "I.. you.. I think you are really cute.." he blurt out in a whisper

Her face started to burn as she blushed.
"Do you............ do you really.... think of me that way?" she whispered shocked and flustered.
Crystal made a shy smile, but her face was redder than a bright red apple.

Kaelyn's eyes widened and she stared- how rude of her. Her mouth formed an 'O', in complete shock. So she wasn't seeing things, this was a prince, and obviously everyone else seemed to think so too. Then it suddenly dawned on her, this was her dream, to be in the presence of a royal and heck- she got a prince!
Kaelyn swept her wide eyes around the kitchen, it seems everyone else had the same reaction as herself. She imagined the prince actually noticing her- like that was ever going to happen. To him, she was probably just another maid.
She now stared at her hands, they were pale and stone-cold. A feeling of utter depression crept into her body and her skin prickled. The sound of his delicate footsteps on the tiles made her body stiffen and she moved her gaze to face directly opposite him.
A scuff and the soft click of his shoe connecting with an object made mer perk up, turning back around. The prince's bowl , and it's steaming contents, came falling towards her.
As the soup struck her, Kaelyn burned- with shame and the undesirable heat of it. She stood, cheeks flushed a rosey colour, and aimed a sharp guesture towards him.
“How- How dare you?!”
Kaeyln's voice was tainted with disgust as she questioned the prince and examined her drenched clothing.
“Do you know how long it took to wash this?”
The soup now soaked into her socks, through her thin shoes.
“And the floor I just washed!”
