Here They Come, Chapter One.
Here They Come, Chapter One.
Dink rubbed his eyes with his front paws, the mystical voice of Valancy still ringing in his ears, “wake up, wake up, my child”
Much like a Feline, he stretched his body and yawned. His wings felt stiff and a faint creaking sound came from his little bones. It felt as if he’d been sleeping for thousands of years.
He knew very well what it meant when Valancy herself, awakens you. It meant a whole day or two of his garden chores would wiz past him, it meant he couldn’t tend to his new seedlings or even turn the old soil with his claws, it usually meant something bad, normally a threat to the forest or a dangerous animal in the clearing.
As he peeked his little head out of the thicket he looked around him, nothing seemed at all out of place, the waters of Lake Tranquillity looked as calm as they should, birds were singing there morning chorus, it was as if Valancy was playing tricks on him.
He ventured outside and towards the Lake, as he got closer he felt the tingle in his fur and the lazy feeling in his body, Valancy’s soft and harmonic voice spoke to him, “Good morning child, some more children should be here soon and I want the flowers to be tended and the thicket looking splendid”
And with that the voice faded and vanished all together, Dink was excited; he got to do his gardening after all! “Wait a minute, new Ding Bats! Cool Beans!” He excitedly squeaked.
He spread his wings and took to the highest branches, then slowly looping back down in a circular falling leaf fashion.
Back on the floor he headed to his garden, he picked his best looking blossoms the ones that smelt beautiful, and hurried to decorate the thicket, using his wings like a humming bird, he darted this way and that, weaving the blossoms into the twine of the thicket.
Then like lightning he turned the old soil over with his claws, this was Dinks favourite part, he loved the feel of soil between his paws, it made him feel connected, like all the history of the world was in the pads of his paws, he then proceed to plant his best seeds, he’d been saving these seeds in a basket for just such an occasion. After his basket was empty, he picked it up in his front paws and zoomed about catching up water from the Lake and zipping back to water his flowers, he did this for 10 minutes until he saw the shoots starting to pop up.
He then placed his basket down by the newly growing flower bed and blessed the Lakes water to do its work, one by one beautiful flowers started popping up all around him, all the colours of the sky, blues and yellows and whites, they were fantastic, he sat there watching them, admiring there beauty and sent as his happy fluffy tail swished backwards and forwards.
Then all of a sudden…
