Warriors: Rise Of A New Prophecy

Postby CuddlesBabyCakes » Tue May 07, 2013 4:49 am

"Silverstar! Silverstar!" a white she-cat shouted as she ran through the camp to the leaders den. A dark tabby tom stepped out and spotting the white warrior, he waited.
"What is it Snowstorm?" Silverstar asked the breathless warrior.
"The star lake Silverstar! A new prophecy has shown!" Snowstorm said breathlessly. Silverstar's ears perked up at what new prophecy would show here in Starclan.
"Show me," Silverstar said and followed Snowstorm to the Star Lake. Gazing into the dark water that reflected the stars, Silverstar soon seen a tortishelle queen had given birth to three healthy kits. Two were she-cats and one was a small tom. The eldest she-kit resembled her mother as the other two kits shown colors they had inherited from the father. A dark tabby she-kit like him and a black kit.
"What does a prophecy have to show with this queen and her kits?" Silverstar asked Snowstorm.
"Look closer Silverstar, the answer is within the kits mind." Silverstar peered into the kits mind and was amazed to see that there was indeed a prophecy that the dark tabby she-kit would fulfill.
"I think her name should be Bearspirit don't you Silverstar?" Snowstorm asked her leader.
"Yes. She has a great destiny before her and even as a loner she will be a powerful cat to reckon with. She does deserve the name Bearspirit." Snowstorm purred and the image before them cleared.
"Come, we must tell the other cats and spread the news to the clans. They must expect this cat if they are to face the danger that is coming and survive it," Silverstar said and Snowstorm bounded away to spread the news to the other Starclan cats.

Chapter 1: The Clans Hear Of The Chosen Cat

Postby CuddlesBabyCakes » Wed May 08, 2013 12:45 pm

Whindwhisperclan

The grey tom waited by the river to his clan. In his dream, he watched the small silvery fish swim below the surface of the water and quickly darting a claw into the stream he scooped out a fish. Quickly eating the fish so as to not be disturbed during his meal, he spotted a dark grey she-cat padding towards him. Sitting up straight as his former mentor came, he bowed his head at her.
"Welcome Waterwalker. To what do I owe a visit for?"
"Smokeswallow" Waterwalker said. "I have news of a prophecy for your clan."
Smokeswallow looked at his mentor shocked. It had been many moons since they had received a prophecy.
"What is it?" Smokeswallow asked.
"Look deep within the woods. A she-cat will be waiting. Find her and you find a new future for all the clans."
"What does that mean? Waterwalker, can't you give me anymore of it?"
"Just remember the threat and remember the cat. Find her and all three clans will survive," Waterwalker said before she began to fade away.
"Wait!" Smokeswallow called but she was already gone.
Smokeswallow woke up with a jolt. It was still early morning and the sun had begun to rise over the tree lining. Listening closely, he could hear the dawn patrol returning to their camp and a hunting patrol begin to head out. Smokeswallow looked over to the nest where his apprentice still lay sleeping; occasional twitching showed that he was having a dream. I wonder if Starclan visited him as they did me. Did he get the prophecy as well? Smokeswallow padded over to his apprentices nest and gently used his paw to wake him up.
"Skypaw, wake up."
"Wha...huh?" Skypaw said sleepily, his waking mind just beginning to grasp what was happening.
"I need you to go find some more marigold, we are low in stock. I have to go speak to Miststar about something important."
"Oh...ok Smokeswallow. I'll be on my way after some breakfast," and Skypaw padded out of the medicine cat den. Smokeswallow sighed, lately his apprentice had been more and more tired every morning and it was starting to worry him but now he had other matters to attend to. Padding out of his den's entrance he headed to Miststar's den and called out to her. A grey and white she-cat padded out of the entrance. She had been a former kitty-pet at one point until her two-legs abandoned her and she had earned her place within the clan and soon became leader after their old leader, Swallowfeather died.
"How may I help you Smokeswallow?" Miststar asked.
"I must speak with you in private Miststar. I have recieved a message from Starclan." Miststar's ears perked up and she motioned him into her den.
"Now tell me. What did Starclan have to say to you? Was my sister there?"
"Yes. Waterwalker came to me and told me of a prophecy. She said deep within the woods there is a she-cat that will help us fight the bears that are coming."
"How could any cat fight a bear? They're so big and powerful!" Miststar said shocked.
"I know. I didn't understand it either but Starclan had told me that 'remember the threat and remember the cat. Find her and all three clans will survive'."
"Hmmm. Well then, if Starclan believes this cat will be able to save all of us than we must not judge their decision. Thank you Smokeswallow, this is of great news."

Fireblazeclan

The ginger she-cat laid sunning on the warm rock under the sun. Her tail was wrapped tightly around her so the tip of her tail fur tickled her nose when she took a breath. She loved this spot in her dream, it seemed to be the sunniest out of any other place and she wished there was a place like this back in her clan.
"Firebreeze," a voice said in her ear. Blinking open her eyes, she seen a white tom standing over her. Jolting up she looked her brother and her mentor in his blue eyes.
"Whitewhisper!" Firebreeze exclaimed. For many moons she had not seen her brother and now he suddenly appears before her.
"Firebreeze, I have something to tell you that is very important."
"Anything Whitewhisper. You have taught me to listen to anything that must be spoken," Firebreeze said. Whitewhisper purred in amusement.
"You have indeed remembered my teachings well sister. Now listen to me again and listen very closely. Look deep into the woods, there will be a dark brown tabby she-cat that will be waiting for you. Find her; she will be the one to help save the clans."
"But how could any cat manage to fight a whole clan of bears? It's nearly impossible really plus not to mention all the injuries and lives that will fall to the battle."
"This cat is different Firebreeze. Find her, by now all clans should be getting this message. You must find her," and with that Whitewhisper began to fade away.
"Wait Whitewhisper! Don't go!" Firebreeze called out to her brother but he soon was gone and she woke up to the morning rays of the sun filtering through the leaves to her den entrance. A slight breeze blew by and rustled the entrance leaves and gently stroked her fur, as if her brother was still there with her and encouraged her to actually understand what he had said. Licking the fur on her back she stood and stretched her legs. Yawning she tried to shake sleep off of her body to begin her day. Smokestar was supposed to have given her an apprentice by now but the clans only three kits were already apprenticed to warriors since none of them showed signs of being the next medicine cat.

Padding out of her den, Firebreeze gazed around at her waking clan as they began their daily duties for the morning. Heading to the leaders den, she called her leaders name.
"Come in Firebreeze," a voice said back to her. Firebreeze padded in and soon faced the smoky she-cat that was Fireblaceclan's leader.
"I have a message from Starclan Smokestar," Firebreeze said. Smokestar's ice blue eyes stared into Firebreeze's green.
"Tell me about it Firebreeze. What did Starclan share with you?"
"Starclan told me there is a she-cat deep within the woods that can save all the clans. Whitewhisper came to me and said that by now all clans will be receiving the same message and we have to find the dark brown tabby she-cat. Whitewhisper said she was different from other cats and will be able to save all of us and live to tell about it."
"Hmm, that is indeed a strange prophecy. What could this cat possibly have to make Starclan think she could save us?" Smokestar asked.
"I don't know but they truly believe that she can or we medicine cats wouldn't have been told of it."
"Very well. Thank you Firebreeze. Oh and Mourningdove is expecting kits. I'll keep my eyes open for you but I don't know if any of them will be a potential medicine cat."
"Thank you Smokestar. Yes Mourningdove did seem quite full today. She wasn't as crabby as she usually is and I figured something was up." She felt like an idiot, as the clans medicine cat she should have been the first to notice the signs that Mourningdove was expecting kits.
"Don't beat yourself up over it Firebreeze. Every medicine cat can't be expected to pick up on everything instantly. No cat is perfect."
"Unlike those cat of legends Smokestar. Do you think one of them could have come back to us as that she-cat?" Firebreeze asked, interested with that thought.
"Who knows what could happen? Let's just focus on finding that she-cat and keeping our clans safe and out of harm’s way. I want to be able to live to see my last full moon and go join Starclan of an old age."
Firebreeze purred in amusement and bowed her head before leaving her leaders den. Of all the clans in the forest, Firebreeze and Smokestar had a secret all their own.

Rockclan

The black tom padded through the tall grass, his nose lifted up to the breeze as his mouth opened and tasted the scent on the wind, mouse. Turning his head he heard the little paws of the mouse as they moved its little body under the dead leaves. slowly on light paws, Darkpelt slinked closer to his chosen prey. He wasn't used to hunting in long grass, he was used to the rocky pathways and the giant boulders that he usually hunted on be it with his new apprentice or solo. Almost there. Don't move a thing, Blackpelt thought to himself but then the wind changed and the mouse picked up his scent and darted into its hole.
"Mouse-dung!" Darkpelt said as he missed his next snack.
"Not so fast now are you Darkpelt? Not since you are almost an elder by now," a soft mew came from behind him. Turning around he saw the pretty tortishelle she-cat that used to be Rockclan's medicine cat before him.
"Ya, it seems like these days, prey is just getting too fast for me. That's why I get Mousepaw to take them on for me, she's much younger than I am," he said through a purr.
"Yes, she has indeed gotten quite fast and she's learning quickly. You have yourself an excellent apprentice, just like you."
"Thank you Dapplewind, that means a lot to me coming from you."
"Darkpelt, I have a message for you, are you ready to hear it?" Dapplewind asked.
"Of course Dapplewind, anything for Starclan."
"In three days from here, passed the other clan's territories and deep within the woods, there is a she-cat that Starclan has chosen to help all the clans from the bears. You must find her and team up with all the other clans to have any success at fighting off the bears. Failure to do this will result in the extermination of the clans and the warrior code."
"A she-cat?! But how can that be?!" Darkpelt was shocked. Yah in his clan there were female warriors, but they didn't really do much fighting, they were more interested in giving the clan more kits to keep them going. Though there were those who chose fighting over kits every day but a lone she-cat being the one? How could that possibly be manageable?
"I know what you must be thinking but trust us Darkpelt. Starclan has chosen this cat, she is different from all the others and she will be able to save all the clans so long as they all team up and put aside their differences and unite against the enemy. She will lead you all into battle and win and the clans will live in harmony."
"And what of her? Where will she go?" Darkpelt asked.
"Anywhere she so chooses. She is a loner and has known nothing of clan life or of the prophecy she is to fulfill. She may need some encouraging to help you guys and believe in us but you must do so if you wish to survive."
"I understand Dapplewind. Thank you." The tortishelle she-cat bowed her head and began to walk away. Turning back to look once more at her former apprentice she left.

Darkpelt woke up to the sun’s rays shining through his den's entrance. He thought over the dream and the message he had recieved from Dapplewind and tried to make sense of it. Everything he had heard goes against any cats physical abilities and instinct, but then again so does three clans taking on a fight with 20 or more giant grizzly bears. Sighing, Darkpelt groomed the moss from his fur before he headed out to the leaders den. Mousepaw was missing from her nest so he figured she went out to gather some more herbs or to help a hunting patrol bring back more prey, anything that she could do to be more useful to the clan. He was proud that he was chosen to mentor the tortishelle she-cat; she was indeed a quick learner and eager to help with anything, even battle practice. Reaching the leaders den, he waited behind one of the eldest warriors waiting to speak to Stonestar as well.
"Can you believe this line?" Heartbreeze asked him. "I mean come on, what does the whole clan need from our leader? He should be getting rest!"
"Why are you here then?" Darkpelt had asked him.
"I need to know what he wants the rest of my patrol to do after we are done border marking. There is so much in our territory that still has to be done."
"Are the bear traps still set up and ready?" Darkpelt asked.
"I don’t know, I assume so."
"Why not start there then?" Darkpelt suggested and he saw the warrior thinking it over.
"Thank you Darkpelt, I will." And with that, Heartbreeze disappeared and Darkpelt was now next in line. When the queen had left the leaders den, Darkpelt was called in.
"What news do you have for me Darkpelt?" Stonestar asked him.
"I have recieved a message from Starclan Stonestar."
"What did they have to say?" Stonestar asked with interest.
"They told me there is a cat that will have the power to save us all from the bears. They said it’s a she-cat that is three days from here and passed the other two clans territories. Dapplewind said we all must unite if we are to survive and take on the bears and the she-cat will be the one who leads us into battle."
"Do we even know what this she-cat looks like? It's hard to find a cat without knowing what exactly to look for," Stonestar said.
"She is a dark brown tabby she-cat. Apparently she is a loner and we have to teach her how to deal with a clan, lead them and how to believe is Starclan."
"How to believe in Starclan?! How could any cat not believe? A loner should stay a loner, we don't need help from some rouge that Starclan believes will be our savior. A loner will have no intention of wanting to lead three clans and learn the ways of Starclan. Loners just care to save their own hide and survive." Darkpelt lowered his head, what is he going to do if his own leader doesn't wish to listen to the prophecy? He can't force the decision onto him but he can't stand for his leader, the supposed inspiration to the clan to Starclan to not listen to their warrior ancestors. It just goes against everything he has learned and known since kit-hood.

"Might I suggest something?" Darkpelt asked.
"What is it?" Stonestar asked.
"Why don't we just give the she-cat a chance? Have her prove herself worthy and if it shows that she cannot save us we will leave her and chase her away? Does that sound good?" Darkpelt asked. He had hoped his leader would catch the bait and that he would agree and he hoped that by the thoughtful look on his leaders face meant that he might have made a break through.
"I guess we could do that Blackpelt. If the she-cat can't prove that she can help us we will chase her away from clan territory and make sure she never returns again. Thank you for the suggestion." Blackpelt bowed his head and headed out of the den. Letting out a sigh of relief, he looked at his fellow clanmates. His sister, Dawnfur, was playing with her three kits by the apprentices den. He was happy that his nieces and nephews were made warrior apprentices, it’s what they and their mother had been dreaming about since she kitted. Chuckling when the littlest tom tumbled over his much larger sister, he padded over to them.
"Whoa now, don't get all rambunctious, I don't want to have to treat a sprained paw with my supplies so low as it is from leaf-bear." The three kits bowed their heads.
"Sorry Blackpelt," they said in unison and went back to playing but more gently this time.
"They're just kits Blackpelt, they'll learn from trial by error."
"Dawnfur, they are no longer kits and you can't treat them as such. They will soon be warriors and out in battle in no time. I know you love them and you wish them to remain as kits, but you must let them grow up and become the warriors I know they can be. Strong and loyal to their clan and excellent fighters."
"I know Blackpelt. It is hard, ever since I lost Flowerkit, I just can't see them leaving me and possibly never coming back again." Blackpelt placed his muzzle in his sisters shoulder fur as he comforted her.
"I know, and Flowerkit hunts with our ancestors now. But you must understand, every kit grows up and soon will become warriors, queens, deputy, clan leader or even a medicine cat. You may support them but you also must be able to let them go make their own path in life and prove they can do it without their mother's help or being treated like a kit. Starclan will watch over them, Flowerkit included."
"I know. Thank you Darkpelt."
"Now I need to go find my apprentice. See you soon." And with that Darkpelt ran off to find his apprentice.

Chapter 2: Bearspirit Enters

Postby CuddlesBabyCakes » Thu May 09, 2013 5:09 am

"Mama, where are we going?" Bearspirit asked her mother. Her two siblings padded a few feet in front of her.
"I'm going to teach you how to fight and hunt Bearspirit. It's time you learn how to take care of yourself if anything should happen to me."
"But mama, nothing could happen to you," Flufffur, Bearspirit's older sister said.
"Ya, your too strong for anything to take you on mama." That was Darkheart, he was Bearspirit's only brother.
"Nonsense young ones. I am only as strong as I can be to keep all three of you safe. I'm not invincible and yes things could happen to me that will render you orphans."
"Like what?" Flufffur asked.
"Bear attacks, a fox, and a rouge dog in the woods. Anything could happen that could take a cat out of this world. You must always be on the lookout and never let your guard down. A cat who does not watch its back is a cat no more."
"Really?" Bearspirit asked. She was frightened of the thought that there was so much danger in this world that could kill a cat without a moment’s hesitation. Why must this place be so hostile and cold? Why can't there be nothing dangerous and everyone and everything live in peace? Bearspirit wondered to herself.
"Now, be quiet young ones. We are nearing the place where you will learn how to hunt." All three kits quieted down and followed their mother’s direction and body movements. It was important that they find as much food as they can to feed them all, with their little stomachs, it wouldn't take long for them to be hungry again and a kit that goes hungry usually ends up dead. Bearspirit looked around her surroundings, like her mother before her, she was intent on caution and keeping an eye out for predators. Darkheart, her brother, padded under some underbrush on a trail of a mouse that ran out into the wide open field. Peeking through the brush, Bearspirit soon spotted a hawk in the sky circling around the spot where Darkheart was.
"DARKHEART!" Bearspirit shouted and bolted out to her brother but not before the hawk swooped down and scooped the little kit up in its sharp talons and began to fly away. Darkheart screamed in fright and pain as the hawk flew higher but not before Bearspirit leaped and latched her nails into the hawk’s legs. Screaming with anger and pain the hawk tried to shake Bearspirit off but could not succeed and in the process ended up releasing Darkheart from its grip. Quickly snatching her brother's scruff in her teeth, Bearspirit let go and dropped to the ground. Completing the drop with a little roll, Bearspirit dragged the limp body of her brother under some thick bushes and waited for the hawk to fly away before turning her attention to Darkheart.
"Darkheart? Darkheart can you hear me? Are you ok?" Bearspirit couldn't comprehend why her brother was not answering her so she pawed his side and listened in for a heartbeat, there was nothing.
"Darkheart?" Bearspirit tried again to make her brother answer her but once more she was followed by silence. When the body began to go cold, only then did she know what was going on, Darkheart had died. Burying her face in the toms black fur, she cried over her brother.
"Bearspirit?! Bearspirit! Where are you!" Bearspirit heard her mother call her.
"Breezeflower!" Bearspirit called her mother by her name. Breezeflower followed her kits cry until she found both Bearspirit and Darkheart together.
"What happened?" Breezeflower asked her daughter.
"There was a hawk, I wasn't fast enough to get him before the hawk did. Before the hawk could fly any higher, I jumped and tried to get him back. Mama, he's dead."

Breezeflower looked stunned at her dead kits body, in all her life she had not managed to lose a single kit, not once.
"Mama?" Flufffur called. "What’s going on?" When Flufffur found her brother and sister, she stopped in her tracks.
"What happened? Why isn't Darkheart moving? Is he all right?"
Bearspirit didn't answer her sister, how could she? She felt like Darkheart died because she wasn't fast enough to save him, she felt it was all her fault that they had lost their brother.
It's not your fault Bearspirit. Bearspirit looked around, where did that come from?
Right here Bearspirit, follow my voice but do not let mother catch you. A lightness entered her heart, Darkheart was here! He was calling her! Following where she was told to go, she looked around.
"Darkheart? Where are you? I'm here."
And I am here. Bearspirit looked on a dead tree stump and sure enough, there was her little brother looking down on her.
"Oh Darkheart, I'm so sorry. I tried to get there in time, I really did please forgive me."
It's not your fault Bearspirit. I know you tried but things like this happen. It was my fault for wandering so far from mother’s side and not looking at the sky to make sure it was clear, you did your best and reacted appropriately. I should be the one who is sorry, in my stupid haste to prove to mom that I can hunt without her teaching me I placed you in harm’s way as well. The hawk could have easily killed you and carried you off and mother would have lost two kits today. I'm the one that is sorry.
"But Darkheart, please don't blame yourself. Kits make mistakes. Tell me, how are you now though little brother?"
I feel more alive than I ever did before. I feel like I could run for miles and not get tired or have to rest. I feel great Bearspirit.
"I'm glad you’re happy Darkheart. Momma misses you, what are we going to do without you? We made a pact to always stick together, we were the trio of terror."
Darkheart purred in amusement. I know, and we can still be. Two living and one a spirit, we can be even more awesome than how we had planned it to be.
"You're right Darkheart!" Bearspirit said and smiled at her brother. Darkheart jumped off of the stump and padded up to his sister and touched noses with her.
I'll miss you Bearspirit, remember to keep mom and Flufffur happy.
"I will Darkheart as long as you remember to be happy and enjoy yourself." The two kits stood there enjoying each other's company for a while longer before Darkheart stepped back and looked his sister in her eyes.
I must go now sis. Be strong and keep going on for me and for mom. I will always be beside you even if you cannot see me.
"I know Darkheart and we will always be here for you when you need us. I love you."
I love you to. Goodbye!
"Goodbye Darkheart," and Bearspirit stood there as the vision of her brother blurred and disappeared completely.

"Bearspirit!" Breezeflower called her daughter.
"Over here!" Bearspirit called back. She waited for her mother and sister to find her before running up to them and rubbing noses with them.
"I just saw Darkheart mom,"
"Where?!" Breezeflower asked looking around.
"He's gone now, but he was on that stump right there," Bearspirit said, pointing to the dead tree stump with her tail.
"He came to me and said goodbye. He seemed happy and looked really good mamma."
Breezeflower lowered her head. "I see, at least he is happy and safe."
"How come you got to see him?" Flufffur asked Bearspirit with a little more hint of jealousy than what she wanted to show.
"Flufffur, be nice to your sister," Breezeflower scolded her.
"I'm sorry mama but you must be thinking it to. Why did she get to see Darkheart before us?"
"Bearspirit was the one who tried to save him. He probably thought she needed more comforting than we did. Don't worry Flufffur, we'll see him eventually to." Flufffur snorted and padded away.
Bearspirit stayed with her mother to help burry her brother's body before they too followed Flufffur.

Good job :) I was a tad sad her brother died, but I'd be a heartless beast if I wasn't sad a kitten died, and it adds to the story.

Chapter 3: Where Is Mother?

Postby CuddlesBabyCakes » Thu May 09, 2013 3:39 pm

Bearspirit and her sister Flufffur laid side by side together in their make shift nest between two boards and a pile of hey in the abandoned barn their mother managed to find for them. A loud noise and some screeching woke the two sisters up as they looked around the dark barn with their ears listening intently for more noise. The little light that filtered in through the cracks of the boards did little to illuminate the barn so they had to rely on their night vision to help them out here.
"You heard that right?" Bearspirit asked her sister.
"Ya, what do you think it could have been?" Flufffur asked.
"Let's go check it out but be careful, it could be dangerous." The two sisters climbed out of their nest and walking side by side they began to slink under the hey and lose boards that separated them from their mothers nest in the barn. When they reached their mothers nest, both sisters looked on frightened as to what they saw. Their mother was missing! Flufffur was about to rush out to the nest before Bearspirit stopped her and pointed with the tip of her tail to the two-leg that was walking away with a crate and a very angry cat inside.
"No, not her!" Flufffur mewed. Bearspirit and her sister watched as the two-leg left the barn and after a few minutes heard the monster it arrived in startup and head off.
"She's gone," Bearspirit said, she couldn't get her mind wrapped around the fact that their mother was just taken away from them by a two-leg leaving them in unfamiliar territory alone.
"I hate two-legs! I hate them!" Flufffur screamed as she laid down by their mothers nest and buried her nose in the soft grass that held their mothers scent still. Bearspirit watched her for a while, she didn't know what to say to comfort her sister, usually it was the other way around and she would be the strong one comforting her and...Darkheart. Bearspirits heart twisted in pain at the thought of her brother. Why us? Why all of this pain?
"Flufffur," Bearspirit finally managed to get out "We need to go. We can't stay here."
"Where are we supposed to go huh?!" Flufffur said through a snarl. "There's no where we can go that won't let anything like this happen to us again! You act like you’re the only one who does not feel for these things. You act like you don't even care!" Bearspirit felt stunned at what her sister was saying to her.
"That’s not true!" Bearspirit spat back. "I do care of what is happening to us! That's why we have to move! Who knows if that two-leg will come back again? Heck for all we know the scream our mother made could have attracted the attention of a fox! We can't stay here or we too risk being captured or killed!"
"Don't tell me what to do! I'm the eldest here and what I say goes!" Flufffur spat, her fur was sticking up and she looked like she was about to leap on her sister. Bearsprit felt a growl rise in her throat but she pushed it down, she didn't need to rile up her sister any more than she already was now, they couldn't risk getting in a fight with each other and risk injury.
"Fine! Do what you want but I'm out of here!" And with that Bearspirit began to head away from the barn. At the moment she could care less if her sister followed or not, she just knew she needed to get away, she felt like something bad was going to happen and if her sister didn't want to listen to her than so be it.

Outside, Bearspirit heard a sound behind her. Turning her head, she spotted her sister coming out of the barn with her head and tail lowered.
"I'm sorry Bearspirit, I didn't mean to blow off on you like that."
"Not your fault you're a mouse brained idiot," Bearspirit said back with an amused purr. Flufffur looked up at her and smiled back.
"Ya, I guess I'm as stubborn as a badger."
"A badger? Please! You're as prickly as a porcupine!" Flufffur playfully swatted her sister’s ear and they headed off into the woods laughing. Taking one more glance back at the barn that they had slept in, both sisters turned their back on the lives they had always known, what lay ahead of them was unknown but they would tackle it together no matter what it was. They were now all that was left of their mother's presence and they needed to make that live on.

Good job : )

EDIT
I made this cat supposed to be Bearspirit, you said she was a dark brown tabby, that was the darkest I could get it.
