Flicker jumped, blinking at the kit. Suddenly she smiled and purred, nuzzling it, her own instincts kicking in. Char watched the pair as he ate, his eyes emotionless.

As they ran, Cherrykit panted "What if we accidentally go over the border?"

"Thats Minnowkit; he has no family." Gingerfrost meowed.

Minnowkit purred. His fluffly fur vibrating.

"Its against the warrior code to hurt a kit!" Redkit meowed.

Flicker licked the kit on his head, smiling and purring. Char smiled. "That's the happiest I've seen her in too long. If it's okay with you're leader, I think we'd love to stay." he said, looking up at Gingerfrost. Flicker blinked at the kit happily, practically ready to take him in as her own.

Gingerfrost nodded. "I will double check with her." She meowed, smiling.

Minnowkit purred. He moved closer to her.

Flicker curled around the kit, tickling his side with her whiskers playfully.

Char nodded. "Thank you very much." he said, getting up and stretching. "umm... which dens are which?" he glanced around uncertainly.

"The nursery is in the bramble den, over here-" Gingerfrost meowed, pointing to it. "And thats the warriors den, where we sleep," She pointed to it.

"Its against the warrior code to hurt a kit!" Redkit meowed.

"But what about rogues and loners?" squeaked Cherrykit, still running.

Char blinked. "Thanks, um, Gingerfrost, was it?" he mewed, dipping his head respectfully.

Flicker purred, then pulled her head back from the kit. "May I take care of you?" she asked him in a very small voice.

Minnowkit nodded. "Yes!" He purred.

Gingerfrost nodded. "You're welcome."

"We can fight them!" Redkit laughed. "They dont scare me!"

Flicker purred happily. "As long as you don't mind having some siblings soon." she told Minnowkit, smiling.

Char shook himself out and went to go find an empty nest in the warrior's den, very tired.

Cherrykit grinned. "Yeah! We're almost apprentices!" she meowed enthusiastically. "We could totally take them!"

Minnowkit nodded. "I'd love some!"

Redkit nodded, stopping as they came to the place where Gingerfrost went over. "Thats a long way down!"
