DewMist finally reached the latch and tugged it open, wrenching her claw. She peered down and suddenly topple over, loosing her balance and falling flat on the ground. "Hey!" A little voice squeaked. DewMist turned to see a small kit in a separate cage on a flat surface with legs. She leaped up there gracefully and examined the kit. "Hello." She mewed quietly. "I'm DewMist." The kit was a blue-grey with a yellow belly and paws, plus a jagged mark on his forehead that looked like a lightning bolt. The kit grinned at her. "I'm Lightning!" He lashed his tail excitedly. "Where are you going?! Can I come?" DewMist narrowed her eyes. "To the forest. You wouldn't want to come." The kit shook his head sadly. "Of course I do! I'm not a kitty-pet!" This took DewMist by surprise. "I was born a rogue. My mom dumped me because I looked weird." He shrugged. "I was trying to find one of those clan cats. Are you one?" He asked, brightening. DewMist nodded slowly. "Yes..."

Hearing Frostpaw, I winced. "Yes. Please don't tell anyone unless they notice for themselves." If they could, my cheeks would flush as I hurriedly padded out into the forest, hoping that the clan wouldn't need me here at camp.

I purred contentedly, though a small part of me was kind of hungry. I kneaded the ground with my paws, thinking of how to break the awkward silence after Frostpaw stopped hyperventilating. As I though of it, the words immediately came out of my mouth. "Do you want to go hunting?" I blurted suddenly, cursing myself for being so obvious. I mean... that was obvious, right? Or maybe I just seemed friendly. But I wanted Frostpaw to see me as more than friendly. I wanted him to like me the way I like him, and we can become warriors together, and become mates, and have kits, and... Whoa, Lilypaw, I told myself, chill.


(Well I just practically wrote a novel soo.)

to keep an eye on his sister, but it would be
rude if he refused. "Sure. Race you to the
forest!" he wanted to get out of there and
just forget about his sister for a while,
witch is usually hard to do.

Not forest-born. Just taken into a clan.
There's bound to be cats who despise
my sister and I, so I make sure
I'm doing something my
father never did.
Protecting us.

I laughed and raced off into the forest, full speed. My small size gave me wind resistance, but it also meant less weight, which was less momentum to carry me as I sped off.

Frostpaw was surprised at how quickly she ran off.
He smiled and hurttled after her. He followed her
scent and could barely see his denmate. Wow. She's
fast... he thought impressed. With a laugh, he said
"C'mon Lilypaw! Let's get hunting! You're going to
scare off all the prey, when you're running like a
lop-sided-badger! Hahaha...". He slowed down and
waited for her to stop.
