I put the babies in with Jacob and Marlo because they seemed fine when they were together, like they have been together forever. It's so cute, the little ones sleep on top of Jacob and Marlo in the hammock. XD So cute.
Rats remind me so much of people. I noticed that Mouse and Badger are copying what Jacob and Marlo do. At first they were scared of me, then they saw that Jacob and Marlo were getting food from me so they come over for food now. But that said, it's a pain too, Jacob and Marlo has showed them how to get into the back of my wardrobe, they are pains. XD
Sorry for my slow response time on RP's. My new job steals ALL my time. :(

Rats are extremely social and should get a long with opposite genders quite well. If theyre all fixed, then its ok to keep different genders together since they are not able to breed and produce babies. Mind you, the males may still try to mount females.
[size=150]I've quit CS, tho I'm seeking Birthday date swaps for Shima LongTail, Dragon Cat PPS, Cheshire Cat, dates in pet names

I'm having a rattie emergency and need some sort of help, please!
I've mentioned before that my younger two rats are small and seem skinny. That on top of one of my older rats being a jerk and fighting with the younger two about food a lot lately led me to setting up one of my old/ retired cages for the little ones to use for food (its a smaller cage so I figured it'd be better to put the smaller ones in it).
All was going well, they had been in there a couple hours when I heard squealing. I looked up and nothing looked too odd. One was near the bottom of the cage and the other on top. I stood up because the squealing was continuing (the one on bottom jumped to the middle level and reached up to where the one on top was sitting) and looked closely and saw blood coming from my girl Micro's forepaws. In fact, her paw was almost entirely covered in red. I was alarmed, took her out of the cage and rushed her to the bathroom where I began washing the paw (first making sure the water was of reasonable temperature). But the blood kept coming and there were large drops falling into the sink and streaks getting on my hands. And for a moment I got a good look at her paw and one of the digits was bent at a point.
I tried washing it for a little longer, dried it, and put her back in the cage and moved the other little one to the main cage.
Micro groomed herself, her hand especially, and now she's at the bottom of the cage eating. I just checked again and her paw is still all bloody and red. She doesn't use it when she walks right now, but she is using it to hold food.
I don't know if there's anything I can do or if going to a vet would be of any use at all (well, the only rodent vet around is cloud right now anyway). What I'd really like to know if there is anything I can do for her at all and if she'll be okay from this. Will she bled to death? That's a major concern of mine right now.
Edit/ update:
I found some advice/help on another site. Right now it looks like the bleeding has stopped and she realigned her toe on her own. I'm keeping a close eye on her though.

Well my boys are going to be dining like kings tonight.
We ran out of food, and since we had a steak that went bad yesterday I'm cooking it up for my boys. It's a pretty good sized steak though, so I think they will be snacking on it spread out through the next couple weeks.

I haven't posted since the last thread, but I was hoping someone could help me. I have two female rats and both of them are about 2.5 years. I did get them from a pet store because I could not find breeders. My one female was a lover of food and snacks so she quickly got a nice pudgy tummy. Not unhealthy, mind you. My other stayed nice and lean, but, again, not unhelthy. Now, though, my bigger female has almost completely stopped eating. I've even tried giving her her favorite treats but she shows no interest. I looked online and saw a lot about looking for a red discharge, but I haven't seen any. She's getting very skinny and I'm worried about her. Does anyone know what it could be or what I could do for her?
I've tried letting her have yogurt, baby food, some tuna, banana, baby cereal, peanuts, and even little bits of chocolate but she won't bother with it.
