Damon kissed Charlie back tenderly as all he could think about was the boy before him.

Charlie holds him close, wanting to hold him there as long as possible.

Damon pulled his lips away from charlies after a moment and rested his forehead lightly against his. "Do you know how wonderful you are?" he asked.

"I know how much of a failure and a waste of space and a mistake I am. I've been told that enough times." Charlie says.

Damon took that as a no, and sighed softly," You dont see how caring, compassionate, thoughtful, and sweet you really are. Charlie you make me the happiest I have ever been. That has to count for something...".

Charlie shrugs, "I've never heard I was good for anything other than child support and they spent it all on booze when they had the chance." He stays quiet for a while. "I'm glad I'm of some use to you, that I'm not a total failure."

"They will understand in time.... I promise you. Charlie your parents may not care, but your sister and I understand your importance. Knowing you so far, You seem like someone who had done random acts of kindness in public as well...who knows whos lives you have touched?" Damon asked as he slowly pulled away from the boy.

Charlie doesn't really know how to respond. Damon wasn't really making any sense. He was raised brutally and most of what Damon was saying were words that didn't seem to fit in the same sentence. He'd never heard it worded that way. Charlie and Importance didn't really belong in the same sentence with understand. And he didn't think it was possible to touch a life since it did't really seem tangible.
