Charlie looks at the ground before getting up. He keeps his eyes on the ducks.

Damon ran his hand through Charlies hair before wrapping the boy in a hug. "Your not alone lost little duckling. Remember that.." He said comfortingly as he resting his chin on charlies shoulder as they watched the ducks.

Charlie rests his chin on Damon's shoulder. "I am lost. I'm on an ocean when I should only be splashing around in a little pond. And it's storming, I'm drowning with each coming wave."

Damon understood,he sighed heavily and cupped Charlies cheeks with his palms, running his thumbs gently underneath his eyes. " I know, Charlie, I know. I understand how horrible it feels to be shipped away, unwanted to the point where no one cares, but we have each other now...If you go under I promise you I will dive as far as I have to, to save my best friend." he said gazing into the boys beautiful blue eyes before pulling the boy in a tight hug and kissing his cheek.

Charlie smiles and hugs him back. "And i'll dive after you too. I can't let you drown."

Damon smiled happily as he closed his eyes and hugged him a bit tighter unable to fathom words for how amazing it felt to hear Charlie say that.

Charlie lightly sets his forehead on Damon's neck, stopping over slightly. "Someday, I'll take both of us away to a distant island to live. We can drink from freshly picked pineapples and grow our own food. We can far from the modern shores and live happily in the peace we should have gotten. We can adopt children and show them the care we never got growing up. Maybe a couple of animals, a dog, cat, pony, like I've always wanted . . . would that be okay?"

DAmon couldn't believe what he was saying," N-n-no that wouldn't be okay Charlie... That would be literally the best thing that would ever happen to me... It would be more then okay...IT would be beautifully perfect in every way." he sang happily as the tears spilled over his cheeks. He loved the idea of being with Charlie let alone anything long term, alone, and with children...

Charlie had a flash of panic when he said it wouldn't be okay, but relaxed when he finished. Beautifully perfect, Charlie smiles and hugs him tightly. "then I'll have to make it happen." Charlie takes an edge of his shirt and dabs away the tears. "Happy tears only, okay?" he hugs Damon again, holding him close.

Damon nodded as he spoke," s-sorry... I'm worse then a pregnant lady when it comes to crying..". Followed shortly by a small chuckle he held Charlie tightly in his arms, taking in the boys warm comforting scent. This had to be the happiest Damon had ever been in his life so far.
