The Oriental Thinker
Name:
Bokuroku
This literally means 'Tree Deer" in Japanese. I feel that the explination for this name is pretty obvious c:. He likes to be called Roku for short.
Breedable:
Nope. Roku has no interest in having a fawn, he would rather just continue to work on his studies.
Extra:
A Festival of New Beginnings
"Roku, aren't you going to watch the does?"
"No, Sutaggu, I have work to do."
"Ok, suit yourself." The two brothers were perched on a rocky ledge, watching the parade of Cherry Blossom Does dance with parosols, and get showered with blossom petals. They could hear the crowd cheering and hollering below them, as the Spring Festival continued on. Roku took a sip of his sweet tea, then continued to sketch in his notebook. He was the studious thinker, always wondering and seeking, recording every new thing in his notebook with black ink always on the tip of his tail, ready to write at any time. Sutaggu was the dreamer, he never has time to write and record. According to him, life moves too quickly to stop and write about what you see, you have to live in the moment. Sutaggu has always been a bit doe-crazy, while Roku has pledged a life of solitude, only to focus on gaining more knowlage about his world.
"Hey look! There's mom!" Sutaggu blurted out. Roku looked down at the parade, and saw their mother twirling a parasol in her tail, prancing along the cobbled road. She was fairly old for a preformer, this was to be her last Spring Festival tour. Then, she would move back to the Oriental Forests, to live with their father. Roku could never understand why some Elkrin preformed, there seemed to be no purpose to it except to entertain other people. You didn't get anything in return. He was glad that their mother was leaving that life to go and live in their homeland.
"I'm going to get some more sweet tea." Roku stood up, flung his notebook into his satchel, and walked off the ledge to the sweet tea stand.
The sweet tea vendors gave all Elkrin free tea during the festival, it was tradition. Roku handed his cup to the vendor with his tail, and grabbed it again when it was full of the warm, sticky liquid. He turned around, and was just about to leave, when he heard a voice behind him.
"Hi."
He turned toward the sound of the voice, and saw a Cherry Blossom doe standing behind him, a smile on her face and a cup of sweet tea in her tail.
"My name's Hana. Please, sit down."
She beckoned to a table, where a clipboard was placed next to a vial of ink. Roku followed her to the table, and sat down.
"I am conducting a servay about the festival, would you like to participate?"
"Sure." They walked over to the table, and Roku dipped his tail in the ink. He checked the boxes either marked yes or no, then signed his name at the bottom.
