Crystal saw Kaleb and what he had done, she stood and threw her arms over his :"Stop it!": she cried ''Did i not say it was MY fault? If you'll hit someone hit me...." she said holdig his fisted hand. She starred up at him, with a strong, hard gaze. Crystal thought her eyes would fall out from burning. And how she hoped they did, then it would take her mind off of what happened before. 'Why oh why did i ever agree to go with hima.' She thougt.

"Serena!" Arabella shouted in shock and ran over to where her sister was, kneeling near her, trying to make sure she was ok. A red welt marred her pale skin and cast a scar on her beauty. Arabella's eyes grew dark and she stood and went to follow Kaleb. "I'll kill him," she hissed under her breath. "I'll kill him, no matter what he means to Crystal! How dare he!" She walked quickly over to the door, half expecting Tristan to stop her. "I'll kill him!" she began to yell. She stopped near the door and collapsed in rage and grief. She continued to murmur nonsense, half out of rage and her will to continue, half out of lack of sleep and the turbulence of the past few days.

Another woman swooned as the Princess of Elyadon stood, barking at Kaleb's fool of a brother. She wasn't necessarily breaking their contract, but what did it matter now? He was afraid he might do harm to his Prince Alexander, or say words that couldn't be undone before the court, so he held his tongue and sat. It was very, very hard for him to sit still. He felt something that must have been.. pride? When Serena stood and spoke, voice sharp, no doubt like her eyes. He hoped they burned holes in his brother. Alexander seemed furious, enraged at their reaction. What had he expected? "Oh, it's great that you are marrying that maid. Would you like some tea?" In his mind, Prince Kaleb was busy arguing with his brother that he hadn't noticed him rose from his seat. Too late, the older brother stood and attempted to stop Alexander. A loud smack! rang through the air, the court gasping. Another woman fell. It was silent after that, save for the unsheathing of several swords, including Tristan's.

The prince was torn between following his brother and making sure Serena was alright. But he told himself that she was strong, and Arabella could take care of her. The brother followed the younger prince back to his chambers, when he grabbed Alexander's shoulder and turned him around. "How dare you? You insult my fiancé, her sister, their dead brother, the rest of her brothers, and you insult me, our parents, our sisters and Reginald. You smack the eldest princess of Elyadon. How dare you!" he repeated, swelling with anger. A fist flung into Prince Alexander's face, a right hook on his jaw. "You have disrespected our father, you've spat on our ancestors' graves! Have you no mind!" Kaleb spat on the other man's face, which had already begun to bruise. He was outraged, how could a prince be so stupid?

Tristan rose when his sisters began arguing with the prince. He kept his hand on the hilt of his sword, waiky eyeing the Avalon guards near the entrance of the room. Too late. A large red welt appeared on Serena's cheek, a shocked crowd gasping and gaping at what had just played out. Someone had attacked the Princess of Elyadon, his sister, and the fiancé of Prince Kaleb. This was an attack on Elyadon. Tristan unsheathed his sword, causing three guards to unsheath theirs as well, looking a but confused. But the coward had already run away, Prince Kaleb not too far on his heels. He decided to tend to Serena, rather than chase the younger prince and slice him to ribbons. He crossed over to Serena, leaving his sword in his hand, and leaned forward, concerned. There was a large swollen bit of her skin, stingingly red. He lifted her chin, so as to see the bruise more clearly. "Are you okay? That man had gone mad." he said, knuckles white from gripping his sword.

The two kings had risen, the silent court growing even more quiet. King hrs were ushered over to the kings, bowing clumsily in their shining armor. "Find the prince, bring him to me." the King of Avalon said, eyes fuming with rage. "This is an act of insult to you and your kingdom. He will be punished for it."

The Elyadon king merely nodded in response, taxed from grieving over his first son, and now overwhelmed by the spectacle. The queen left the room, following the fashion of the Avalon queen, who had been lucky enough to avoid the whole scandal. Tristan's father waved his hand dismissively at the court and his sons and daughters. "All of you dismissed. The announcement shall go on, but please return to your rooms." he said.

(Alex had already entered his room and shut the door but okay *shrug*)

Alexander stumbled to the floor coughing up blood and a a tooth. He didn't care. He shuddered with convulsions in pain. *What's going on? Why is this happening to me... I- I just wanted to...* Suddenly the room began to spin. "K-Kaleb, I'm so-" Alex collapsed to the floor in a pool of his own oral blood, unconscious.

Crystal almost screamed, she threw herself down and picked Alex's head up, onto her lap "Alex? Alex?!?" she demanded worried. She started to feel the tears again, it was all her fault for coming back anyway "Go Away!" she yelled at Kaleb, "Leave him be!". She looked down and hugged him softly.

"Oh dear lord," the prince muttered to himself, dragging his weak brother back upright. He brushed off the wails of the maid and inspected the damage. Red bruise, a tooth, a small puddle of blood on the prince's collar. "Huh, only one punch," he thought, examining his right fist next, keeping hold of Alexander with his left hand. His knuckles held minor bruises, but otherwise there was no damage. He heard the jogging footsteps of the guards, stopping a while to check the rooms nearby. "Here, we're in here!" Kaleb yelled over the screams of the delusional servant. Four Avalon guards dressed in blue rushed into the room, immediately sheathing their drawn swords at the sight of the unconscious prince. Two took hold of his arms, and two his legs. The five of them left the room, sure to head back to the king. Kaleb turned to face the maid, attempting a calm face despite his wild insides. "You have disrespected two princes of the kingdom, waif. You either get out of Avalon and never return, or face your just punishment." he warned, pointing towards the exit. He was giving her a chance to leave and survive. Being the girl she was, no doubt she would run for it.

Serena sighed softly as she placed the napkin back on the table, hearing Arabella yell furiously once she discovered what had happened. Serena pressed a hand to her head as Arabella began to yell death threats as she ran after Kaleb. Serena had to admit she was happy her sister seemed too tired to turn her words into actions. The Elyadon princess stood up and said nothing in reply to Remmington. She just quietly left the room, covering her cheek with her hand as she walked over the hallways. Of course Serena saw this all as her own fault. She had spoken. Maybe she shouldn't have. She would just remain silent the next time, going back to bundling her anger and sadness. She wouldn't get hit in that case. Alexander's insult haunted through her head as she walked through the hallways, removing her hand of her cheek as it hurted really, really bad. The girl sat down against a wall with a slight frown as she tried to push the pain away.

Tristan finally sheathed his sword after the court had grumpily left the dining hall, slanting eyes narrowing and wanting to know what would happen next. He wasn't sure for himself what would happen next. Turning his thoughts back to Serena, Tristan cast a concerned look at her bottom lip, which had been been nearly sliced through by her teeth. Fortunately it was nothing too serious, and the bleeding had just about stopped. He grabbed a napkin from the table and brought it to her lip, soaking the blood. "It's not too bad," he said, the anger beginning to simmer down a little. "It may scar, but it's okay." He didn't want the future-bride-to-be more stressed out about how she looked than the assault that had just been carried out.

In the back of his mind a little light flickered a warning as Arabella ran after Kaleb and Alexander. His mind screamed, "Stop her, she'll get in the way, she'll get hurt." But he didn't move from his spot, and let her go. She surprised him when she stopped at the entrance of the dining hall, moaning to herself and muttering strange phrases. Good thing the court had been cleared out. They would have thought her a witch. Excusing himself from his older sister, Tristan turned and headed towards Arabella, who was slumped on the floor. "Come on, Lizzy. Shhh.." The prince heaved his sister up and brought her out of the hall, back towards the guest suites. He hadn't called her Lizzy in such a long time. Arabella had many nicknames, but Tristan was the only one that ever called her Lizzy.

"No, Tristan," Arabella murmured, still speaking softly. "I have to help, Serena's hurt." She was overwhelmed, her brain wasn't working properly any more. So many thoughts flew through her head that she couldn't bear the thought of even standing. So she had fallen. Given up. In some strange detached part of her brain, she felt safe, almost content. He called me Lizzy, she thought. He hasn't done that in years. Have I been wrong the whole time? "Tristan, no," she said again, the fog in her mind beginning to disperse. "Someone has to do something. I-I have to do something."

Sparrow followed her out of the tavern, the cool evening breeze tossing her white hair slightly as her skirts brushed against the worn path beneath her feet. Cassia snatched a small lantern from a nearby hook on the doorpost. Sparrow frowned slightly. The tiny flame would afford them little light, but it was better than nothing. It was the time of the day when the sun seemed to slip underneath the horizon within seconds, and at any moment they would be swallowed in blackness, and the flame would be the only light they had. When Cassia got her horse from the stables, Sparrow looked the beast up and down. He wasn't an uncommon type of horse, but he was rather impressive beast nonetheless. His dark coat would be useful in blending into the shadows that were falling though, unlike her own horse. She smiled when Cassia inquired about the horse. Sparrow whistled a low melody into the air, and moments later Kai, the spotted mare, appeared with Hawk. Sparrow crouched down and cupped Hawk's face in her hands. "I'm sorry, love," she crooned to the dog. "But we're going to be riding too fast for you to keep up. I'll be back here soon though, I promise." She stood up again, the dog slinking away back into the shadows with a slight air of dejection as Sparrow stroked the neck of her horse. "Are we ready to head out?"

Cassia's eyes lit up as Kai appeared out from the forest. Impressive. A dog popped out from the bushes as well, causing her own horse to softly knicker at the strange sight. Dogs weren't very common around his area, neither were cats. There had been a bout of plague a year earlier, when the food was gone and all that was left was.. the people's domestic animals. Hopefully the people of the village weren't too accustomed to eating dogs.

They had reached the edge of the forest, the farthest point from the village. "Yes, we're ready. Let's ride." The nun mounted her horse, cloak draped over his right flank. She held the weak lantern with her left arm, her right straddling the reins and few strands of Trov's dark mane. And off they went, a quick gallop into the dark realm of looming trees.

She led her horse to a near stable. One hand held the reins, the other her sword that was at her side. Her sword had been rubbing and poking her leg every time she walked.
She led her horse into the stable carefully, and with gentle hands.
"It's ok, I'll be back." she whispered into his ear.
