As Kyoki was in deep thought, he heard a slight thump in some where down below, probably a cellar. Who or what had caused this, he had no idea. But he supposed that he would check it out since he had nothing to do for the time being. Taking off from the ground, Kyoki flew silently to the cellar, his wings flapping soundlessly as he did so. It would do for him to startled whatever was down there, be it the Ghost-Kyoki or some intruder. It was probably a good thing that the cat bit only his neck and not his wings, or he would probably be in deep trouble by now.

He could smell the slight tinge of herbs coming from the stairways leading to the basement. Taking a deep breathe and rubbing his neck anxiously, Kyoki flew down into the darkness, into the unknown. Hopefully, it was just the ghost playing pranks and nothing else. He wanted to get out of here as soon as possible, and that included as safe as possible too.

Moira straightened herself, coughing from the dust. The light from the small window only showed a bit of what was around her, so, pointing her flashlight ahead of her, she flicked it on... right into the eyes of the newcomer. She yelped in surprise, thinking: OH GOD GIANT BAT-THING and dropping her flashlight in a rush to grab one of the talismans that hung around her neck.

Kyoki was simply alone in darkness as he looked around, a small shaft of light being the only thing to make its way through the cellar, giving it an eerie feel. Before he could do anything however, a light suddenly blinded him, and he realized that it was not a ghost, but an intruder holding a flash light. The sudden yelp and concentrated lights on his poor eyes made him flap his wings in annoyance and it brushed against the intruder, his feathers touching a shoulder and a head of long hair. Wait. Longhair? That meant that the smell, with this long haired person, was probably a Witch, one of the annoying few magic casting humans with talismans to summon weak demons that he could smite out easily.

Snapping at the witch, he flew around, temporarily blinded as he half stumbled and flew out of the cellar, turning into a black raven and flying off to perch on on of the many ledges in the walkways, waiting to see what or who would come out. Making himself comfortable on his perch high up where no one could see him, Kyoki watched with beady eyes and huffed, annoyed that he was caught off guard by a herb-scented witch.

Ambrose listened as Sammy told him about why she had come and then turn the question back at him. She thought he came from a castle huh? Well it couldn't be helped after all he did look as if he had step out of one. More or less. "I confess I came because of that reason as well. It has been a long time since someone has called out to any supernatural and asked them to come and join together in one place." It wasn't only that, his home was only a day and a half flight from here and any trouble that came to this town would no doubt make it to him as well, and he would rather avoid that if he could. From the sound of things whoever had called them here also knew at least some of what was about to happen or knew the full story.

Moira felt feathers brush against her face as she stumbled backwards. AAH FEATHERED BATMONS-oh wait it's just a bird. A GIANT MONSTERBIRD where is that necklace...! She finally got a hold of the necklace she'd been trying to find and hissed a command at it. The dark stones along the cord brightened and a dozen fireflies darted out of them. The bugs encircled her, burning with an actual fire that most insects lacked. Surrounded by what looked like a ring of little candle flames, Moira calmed down a bit. None of her fireflies were flaring up to defend her, so either this bird was not a threat, or it was no longer in the room. Suspecting the latter, she scrutinized the bugs until she found the one which burned brightest, and followed it out of the cellar as the ring floated along with her. Whispering commands at a couple of her earrings, she climbed the steps into the spacious hall beyond, and looked up to see a crow peering down at her. She hoped birds were afraid of fire.

Sammy nodded in response to Ambrose' answer and thought silently for a moment before asking in a subdued tone: "Do you think it's true? That some of the little spirits--" The waitress clunked drinks down on the table and Sammy broke off her sentence. She took the Coke she had ordered and told the waitress she would like a hot dog with extra cheese for her meal.

"Do you think it's true? That some of the little spirits--" Sammy started but stopped as the waitress came over, damn and he had been about to have some answers too. It couldn't be helped though, they were in a public place after all. The waitress set down their drinks, pulling out a pad of paper to take notes on. Sammy ordered first, asking for a hotdog with extra cheese, and he ordered a bowl of the beef stew. "I haven't heard anything I'm afraid," Ambrose spoke in a quiet tone, "Only that a very old vampire named Achen was the one who sent out the call."

Kyoki noticed that the witch was looking in his direction, and realized that he had been spotted. Staring at her, transformed into his more supernatural form, a crow demon. His wings became skeletal, showing off the bones , and had mist drifting around it as his normal crow eyes transformed into gems and glared down at the witch, daring her to get any closer with her annoying fireflies. Flapping his wings, he took, off into a random walkway, mist trailing behind as the place suddenly became foggy, a result of what that would happen should he turn into his crow's demonic form.

"Yeah, that guy..." Sammy sipped her drink a bit before continuing, "I think I might've seen him earlier: pale guy avoiding sunlight and smelling like nothin'. Most of what I've heard about this place came from some vultures I know. All they cared about was that some vamp was offering free human meat. They thought it was a trap, or some sorta recruitment scheme, 'cause who can actually give out that sort of thing? But I guess there are people curious enough to come anyways. I figure, I don't eat people or have any crazy powers, so if I just keep a low profile it won't matter if there is some trap for real important monsters."

Moira raised an eyebrow as the crow metamorphosized into a proper-looking demon. The fireflies shifted from yellow to nearly white, their flames now larger than her hand. She'd called upon some pretty potent demons from the safety of summoning circles before, even a few that the other witches had been quite reluctant to tell her about, but pulling something like this from another dimension would take more power than she was likely to ever hold. But this thing wasn't in some other dimension. It was right in front of her. She bowed deeply to the crow to hide the smile that was creeping across her face.
"Well met, Sir Demon. I am Moira Walker, second of my name and Head Witch of this province." (Okay, calling herself head witch in an area with no other witches was a stretch, but she didn't expect that would matter) "What might your grand name be?"

Kyoki stared at the lady in his crow form. He now looked like a crow with skeletal wings and mist, though that was already a giveaway. Cocking his head to one side, he stared at the witch, now named 'Moria Walker' was staring at him with an odd look in his eyes as she bowed. Somehow, he could feel that this wasn't any normal girl playing with matchsticks and fireflies, wearing a cloak and claiming to be witch, but she seemed to have some form of power though, going by the smirk half hidden by her bow.

He was no idiot, and he knew better than to go around telling those who knew magic about his name. That was pretty stupid in the first place, he thought, to go around transforming out of shock. Well, at least this was starting to get interesting. Cawing, he said nothing as his eyes, now made out of gems, glared at her, somehow annoyed by her insensible question and flew into the living room, stirring up the dust as he landed on a chandelier. There not too far, on the wall, hung a painting of a black cat sleeping peacefully, and Kyoki sighed internally, at least Nigrum was 'watching' over him... He knew that no one could tell that the painting was actually something else, unless the cat itself woke, or they burned it.
