Althea, cringing in fear as a Pure one came at her, let out a shriek as her wings went numb and she felt herself loose control. She was going yeep. She cursed several times beneath her breath as she plummeted to the waiting sea. Thankfully, another owl named Baefyre took the approaching owl down before he could attack her. With this, she managed to regain her flight and steadied herself out. Flying towards the owl, she gave an appreciative smile. "Thank you so much. Glaux knows what would have happened."

Baefyre - Male Snowy - Guardian Warrior
He hovers in the air next to her, his eyes flash with a secret emotion, but is quickly gone, "I live to serve you, My Queen, my life is yours." He turns quickly and fights off another approaching Pure One and then goes back to her, his large wings stir the air around them, "Where is your mate, My Queen? I haven't seen him since the battle began."

Liam

The High Tyto had gotten lunged at by one of the Guardians, but he had quickly dodged and instead grabbed the owl's talons in his own, slamming the owl against the trunk of a tree. He finished it off quickly and let it's body sink to the ground as he flew off to attack a few of the other Guardians.

Caedis - Male Tyto - Pure One Warrior
He flies to his High Tyto's side and fights next to him, fighting off the Guardians that rush at him and Liam. The fights were quick and rather boring for Caedis, the Guardian's warriors seem to be newer recruits and they aren't as good as the seasoned warriors, which were battling on the other side of the battle.

Her eyes widened in sudden realization, she too had not seen her mate since war broke out. He had sobered up instantly, hearing the cries of declaration for war resonate through the celebration. They had parted soon after being fitted for armour and battle claws. She nodded for Baefyre to follow as she took off, darting and dodging between skirmishing owls and wounded soldiers, all the while shouting her mate's name in a frantic attempt to summon him.

"Glaux, please be alright." she murmured, veering off. A passing soldier, a Burrowing owl, noticed her and approached her with a solemn face. She blinked away tears, addressing the messenger. "I am sorry, ma'am. Your mate was found... dead."

Everything around Althea seemed to pause, clinging to her choked breath. She struggled to comprehend it, and it felt as if her heart and gizzard had just been torn apart and scattered in the wind. She took a moment, and eventually succumbing to the pain of his loss, bent over and wept on the shoulder of Baefyre. "Who - who killed him?" she managed to sputter through sobs.

(Any Pure One volunteers to be the murderer of her mate?)

He follows after her quickly and then bows his head as he hears of the king's death. He looks at the messenger with a stone cold face as Althea cries on his shoulder, "It was Caedis wasn't it? Or Liam? All the Pure Ones will pay for this treachery." He moves his head closer to Althea's, "I will find the king-killer and bring you his talons, if it is your wish My Queen."

Liam

Liam looked at the Pure One fighting next to him, Caedis, and nodded his head before rushing right into the midst of battle. He grabed a Guardian and injured his portwing before dropping him off right into the Sea of Hoolemere. He recognized this owl from somewhere. He believed it was one of the ryb's.
