Cardinalswipe nodded, moving only when his brother did.

Russetleap looked down in shock as a kit ran into her chest. Slowly the emotion faded as she realized who it was, and that Rootclaw had truly been successful in bringing her home. "It's ok." She mewed softly, gently licking the top of her ear.

Brighteyes was already on her paws before Scarletfeather entered the camp. The wreaking smell of an intruder, and the pounding of paws was an early warning of trouble. As Scarletfeather called Darkstar's name, she looked up the ridge to meet her deputy's cold stare, and shook her head. Darkstar wasn't in camp, he never really seemed to be anymore. Brighteyes could only wonder what life he was on, and if he preferred to spend the rest of his time amongst the trees.

Spottedkit fell back in relfif. "Ok." She meowed.

Scarletfeather looked over at Brighteyes. "Where's Darkstar?" She meowed, not taking her eye of the loner.

Cricketpaw held back for a few secounds, then let out a big sigh. "I cant go out."

Russetleap watched the young kit carefully, "What's wrong?" She mewed softly, her voice hoarse with tiredness.

Brighteyes shrugged, padding forward to meet the deputy, glancing side long looks at the loner every now and then. "No one's seen him this morning," She replied, "I'd send a search party, but I doubt they'd find him." For the last few moons, it had seemed like a mysterious disappearance always took priority on Darkstar's time table. No one really saw him anymore.

Cardinalswipe raised a furrowed eyebrow, watching his younger brother cautiously. "Why not?" He whispered, his mew quiet though firm.

"Too bad, maybe I should head off then" Rosepetal said and tryied to start walking away.

Thorntail looked concered for his oldest daughter. "Is there something you need to tell us?" He twined his half-tail with his mate's and awaited and answer.

"Stay." Scarletfeather growled. "If I don't find him by tomorrow, ill report him dead."
