That's exactly why I don't ship them. It's also one of the reasons why I don't ship Caramel and Applejack - they're also related. I also don't ship Caramel and Applejack because Caramel already had a girlfriend - WindWhistler/Sassaflash, as can be seen in the episode "Hearts and Hooves Day".

Because for the first part of the series, he had an apple cutie mark, most people assume that he's somehow related to the Apple Family. I agree with this assumption; thought it technically hasn't been stated or implied as of yet.

So, technically speaking, they may not be related. I just think they are - Caramel has a similar coloration as Braeburn, so...he may be related to Braeburn, who is related to Applejack.

I really should rephrase my original statement. The main reason I do not ship Caramel with AJ, or any other pony, is simply because of this: He already has a girlfriend named WindWhistler.
