Featherpaw sighed in content to his relaxation, but like all apprentices, even after a day of hunting, he couldn't stay still for long. He carefully stretched on his branch and decided to get down. He carefully made his way onto lower branches until he was back in front of the nursery. He walked into camp and hid when he spotted Westpaw. There she is! he held his breath and crouched down, carefully making sure he was down-wind as he approached her. She seemed very bored rolling a moss ball back and forth, so he carefully approached her and then jumped on her. He let out a playful hiss "I'm an invader and I'm gonna eat all the kits in this clan!" He tussled on top of her, nipping at her neck playfully as he grabbed her with sheathed claws.

The first thought that came to Westpaw's mind as someone jumped on her and bit her neck was that an actual invader had attacked her, but as he continued on and spoke, the apprentice came to realization that it was only Featherpaw being himself. Deciding to play along, the apprentice let out a fake battle yowl and attempted to wriggle around in his hold, a mischievous glint in her eager eyes. "I am Westfur, a warrior of ShadeCan! How dare an attacker come into our camp!" the striped cat announced quietly so she wouldn't disturb any actual warriors in the camp. In an attempt to wriggle out of the tom's hold, she crouched down and snapped at the air close to the other apprentice, a low rumble coming from her playfully.

Featherpaw held on tight to the gray apprentice's back, careful not to hurt her, but also not letting her throw him off. "Turn around and throw me against the ground, it'll knock the breath out of me and you'll have time to fight back." he whispered in her ear before quietly declaring. "When I beat you, Westfur, I'm going to take over your camp and eat all of the kits in the nursery! Your clan won't stand a chance against myself!"

A smirk tugged at the corner of the she-apprentice's lips as Featherpaw hinted her on a battle plan. "You'd make an awful attacker, you know that, right?" she teased but knew he was right; with a hold like his her only option would be to flip him onto her ground and hope she could get up before him. Westpaw calculated her movements for a brief moment than with an eager but playful hiss she flipped over in an attempt to throw the apprentice to the ground; based on him being a bit larger than her and older, she was sure she weighed a little less and wouldn't hurt him. "You'll never get past me!" she finished.

Featherpaw smirked at her comment. "It's hard to fight your own weakness." he murmured into her ear before she accurately flipped him onto the ground. Not much breath was knocked out of him, but just enough to delay the time he took to get back onto his feet. He let out a playful yowl " Oh, but I will!" He said as he started regaining his balance. If she's quick enough, she can try to knock me me down by tripping me, he silently thought, actually having fun and preparing for her next move, even though he wasn't completely balanced yet.

Westpaw cocked her head slightly at the tom's odd remark but shrugged it off quickly with a small shiver rippling her fur, a triumphant smirk overtaking her face as he fell back into the ground. Featherpaw got up quickly- something she wasn't surprised at- but he seemed to have trouble getting his balance back, which was a great advantage for the she cat. I suppose I could try to knock him down again; maybe if I'm faster I'll have time to pin him down, she said to herself mentally, sizing up her options. The young apprentice agreed with her sensible side and crouched low, springing towards Featherpaw with a clean shove to his shoulder.

-- my parents rarely bother me about bedtimes, unless i'm up at like five on a school night. waking up is another thing. how I hate mornings... cx --

((Edited Featherpaw's form so his remark could make sense to you at least xD I'm home schooled, so I wake up early to study early, and, well... tomorrow my mom wants my help around the house. ^^; ))

Featherpaw managed to guess what Westpaw was going to do, but he wasn't able to dodge just in time. He lost his balance and fell over on his side, exposing his sensitive fire-colored belly as he rolled over in an attempt to stand up. Better expose my back instead of my soft belly, he concluded mentally. Although he expected it, he probably wouln't have enough time to dodge Westpaw if she went for his back, or even worse: his neck!

With a small laugh laced with triumph and excitement, the young apprentice leapt onto Featherpaw's back as he rolled onto rolled over to protect his belly. Her sheathed paws stumbled to grab his shoulders but as soon as she had gotten organized her next attack, a voice rang out. "Featherpaw! Time to train!" The apprentice's ears dipped in disappointment as she realized Feralstar had called for her apprentice. Westpaw, with a tiny sigh, rolled onto her own paws and sat down, glancing at the tom apprentice. "I guess you have to go," she mumbled. She shook out her ruffled her, licking down a few bristled patches before returning her gaze to Featherpaw.

I've always wondered what is would be like to be homeschooled; probably much better since there wouldn't be so many other people cx --
