rubber lip plecos are very small plecos that only get about six inches long. they are good for young Oscars (they will fight when cornered). the one i had died when my tank was full of illness and i plan to add another one. the are very peaceful but are not pleco safe (they are territorial).

Help me. I'm obsessing. D:
I've been staring at the computer researching and gathering links for everything and making a list to set-up a big community tank when I move my room downstairs.
I don't even have the room cleaned out yet. Things aren't even close to becoming final for this either. I don't even know if my parents will LET me.
But no. I'm going to set myself up for disappointment and figure out how I'll set up this new tank now. xD

My pleco fights with my Cory if he gets to close. I would say that they are definitely territorial. He also will attack any fish that comes near his precious ornament. (Well, he WOULD attack any fish that came near it. Had to take it out after the poor guy got himself trapped under it for three days before I noticed.)
My biggest dream is to have a large 50-120gal Freshwater tank. That's my dream, right there. Hope to fulfill it when I move out.

If its a small pleco like a bristlenose it will be fine in at least a 20G, but some of the large plecos like commons and sailfins need 100G+
aren't they a little agressive?
and have you guys ever owned a clown pleco?
I haven't found a bristlenose to be aggressive to any other species of fish
They do raise their dorsal fins to make themselves look bigger if a fish comes over to get their food for example but I find mine are very placid and would swim away and hide if the fish keeps badgering them
I have bristlenose in 4 of my tanks and they are only territorial towards each other when there are two or more males at breeding size (approx 3+ inches) in a small tank, one male BN per 20G of water with afew hides and they can live peacefully together

XD Lonin does that. Not allowed another tank but we'll still look at bigger ones and imagine what we'd put in them <3

Clown Plecos are neat. Don't get very big and don't really bother anyone.
As far as Bristlenoses go, nah, I've never known them to be aggressive towards anything other than each other. And even that is more show than real aggression. I've got 3 breeding pairs in a 55 with a TON of their babies and a few dozen livebearers. They all are fine together.
Now as far as aggressive Plecos go? My Sailfin backs down the Flowerhorn in the 120 gallon. But, again, i think it's more puffed up fins and tail slapping and bluff than any real danger. ^_^

Oh i read about fish that redtails sharks are safe with. You will not belive what fish is best...betta fish. Who know about turf more than a betta lol. And not a horrid one if you think about it. If a betta can do it in the wild( both are found in the same part of asia) they can do it in captivity right?

Username: White Werewolf
How many tanks do you have: One tank
Type of fish that you have: Two goldfish
Your fish's names: Neptune and Poseidon
How long have you had fish: I just got them today

Also if you have pictures of you fish we would love to put a link to them next to your name! If you have a tank with a lot of fish you are welcome to just put a picture of your tank. Please do not post the pictures on the actual forum since they do take up space; just the link will do!
