Ugh I don't think I'm gonna be able to participate this time... Too much stuff to do, it would be nearly impossible. But I'll definitely wear something to show my pride &support :)

Thank you all for signing up and participating in the Day of Silence! I apologize for my absence from this topic as life has been getting in the way but from now until midnight EST I shall be online and answering any questions anyone may have regarding the Day of Silence and accepting anyone else that would like to sign up!

Here's a question though: What are you, or anyone you know, doing for the Day of Silence?

Again, thank you all so much for lending your support, love and time to this cause.

Thank you.

It took me a while to discover (and accept) that I myself was not "perfectly 'straight' " (as evidenced by my form from last year that showed I had still convinced myself that I was heterosexual) but I have friends who have always known that they were gay or lesbian or have always felt that they were transgender. Since I first heard about the project (in 2007) I have been participating, even though I didn't know I was bi then. My elder sister introduced it to me. I am in high school, and my school is very pro-acceptance. It is a big thing at the school, with many people from the faculty adding it into their plans so that they don't have to talk either. Students carry cards around to explain why we have the quietness, and there is an annual t-shirt design contest that many people order from. There is always a black background with whatever design on it for those who are participating and supporting, and for those who don't feel that they are able to participate, there is a grey shirt with the same design. Our school's GSA is very active and thus the school is actually quite quiet on the Day of Silence. Last year, more than one of my classes were nearly entirely silent because our teacher was participating, and so were many people in the class. We played games and such, like charades with whiteboards to "call" out our answers - and those who didn't participate had a good time too. I hope that this year, support remains the same. Due to the amount of orders for the shirts, it looks to be a great turnout. c:

I hope everyone's day of silence goes well.

I had to babysit yesterday and it is impossible not to talk while babysitting a three year old. Hopefully next year I'll be able to participate. >.o

If you are willing to come over to the USA, paradox ; 'cause that's where I live. The funny thing is the lower half of my state is quite against equality, while us in the northern bit are for it. So my state is fighting itself. :c

My day of silence was great, as I predicted. I feel so lucky to live where I do- where so many are accepted. There were a few hiccups, with the fact that I think my chemistry substitute teacher was against us since she was really pushing for us to have to talk in her class-even though we had her permission and all that. Luckily, I had a dry erase board to write on as needed. We weren't even doing a lab or anything, just taking notes.

    How did everyone else's go?
