The stealer laughed, and pressed the knife harder into Mattie's throat. "Give it to me first" He hissed.

Sombra snarled, not handing it over. "No. All our lives would be in stake if I gave it to you."

The stealer rolled his eyes. "Last chance" He smiled cruely "One... Two..."

[Cottleston]

Mattie tried not to swallow. She couldn't breathe. Everything was going fuzzy. Don't give it to him, she begged Sombra with her eyes. I'm not worth all you.
The wold was spinning. The knife was cutting into her throut. It would all be other soon- either the stealer would cut her throat or she'd suffocate from the pressure of the knife blade. She wasn't sure which was worse.

"Three!" The stealer screamed. He was just about to kill Mattie in one cut when he saw something and froze. He stood, not moving, staring at something.

Zan looked in the direction the Stealer was staring. She barely had the energy left to turn her head. She saw nothing there, but maybe it was just the way the world was... swaying...That made it so hard to see. She wished it would stop. What had she ever done to it? She needed to be able to see and think clearly now. Everyone's... Everyone's lives... What was it everyone's lives did? Um...

Mattie was ready to die, to feel the cold metal of the blade rip her life from her. She counted one, two, three, in her head with the stealer.
On three, he stopped. She saw his head turn to stare at something and she tried to turn with him, to crane her neck and see, but trying to move used up the last of her oxygen and she slumped to the ground, unconscious.

Sombra took his chance and leapt at the Stealer, pinning him down again. He didn't give a damn that the knife blade went right into his shoulder, almost his neck but it was not an issue right now. It was sticking out of his shoulder, lodged in there at a funny angle, it wasn't going to move in a hurry.

Fred ran over to Zan, shifting as he went. "Zan! Stay with me, stay with me, please!" he begged. He was on the edge of crying. "Zan!"

Kat glared. "We gotta get out of these bloody cadges... Any ideas?"

"None." Beth said, worried. "I'm guessing the cages are Merr-proof, right? I mean, if you're a ridiculously rich and well-funded scientist, you're going to do it properly, won't you?"
