The Darkness Rises (A Rise of the Guardians Role Play)

It has been a year since the boogeyman, Pitch Black, was defeated by the Five Guardians. Peace was restored throughout the world, with the children of the world joyful and celebrating once again. The Five Guardians, Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy, The Easter Bunny, The Sandman and, the newest recruit, Jack Frost all took to their tasks, filling the lives of the children with Wonder, Memories, Hopes, Dreams and Fun. Everything seemed, to be as it should be.

However, not everything is as it seems.

Pitch Black refused to give up. Whatever the cost may be, he is determined to have darkness and fear rule the lives of the children of the world. He knew he could not do it alone. The nightmares were too easily defeated by the powers of the Guardians, Jack Frost and the Sandman being the hardest to defeat of all. It was time for a new approach to the board. He decided to amass an army of Dark Allies, those chosen by the Man in the Moon, but were later, like Pitch Black, cast out as their powers were deemed too dark. Together, they are now building an army, nearly big enough to take on the Guardians.

The Man in the Moon has warned the Guardians of this new threat. Under the leadership of Santa Claus, they too have been amassing an army, but theirs will be full of Light Allies, those chosen by the Man in the Moon, but not yet ready to become full Guardians.

3. Mary-Sues and Gary-Sues – Look, I know this series is about powers and epicness, but it doesn’t mean everyone’s perfect.

4. Role Play isn't reality – I can understand this one if there’s a major argument between charries, but please don't take it personally if someone is mean to your charrie. PM me if you’re getting annoyed, though.

5. Leaving for Dead - I know it’s annoying if some peeps go offline, but please don’t RP without them; it’s rude.

6. Rights of a non-moderator – This explains itself. But please tell me if I break them as this is my first RP and I might get things wrong.

7. Mini-plots - To be frank, I don’t mind them, as long as they’re relevant and won’t interfere with other characters that don’t want to be involved. PM me first, though, otherwise I’ll set Sandy on you!

8. Spam – First of all, spam is a weird word... Sorry, I had to get that off of my metaphorical chest. But, yeah, try not to. If things are really bothering you, PM each other or me.

9. The lits – This is a Semi-lit and above RP and I’ll expect more than a couple of sentences. Whatever you do, don’t use text-speak. I can barely understand it and others will agree.

10. Swearing – I don’t mind swearing, but for the sake of others, censor it. Also, swearing doesn’t seem realistic for Rise of the Guardians, so I suggest not using it on this RP.

11. Centres – You can all have centres without being a guardian. But people your centres will enhance your powers ONLY when you become a guardian. You can only become a guardian if Manny ((me)) chooses you.

12. OCC – Use (), (()), {}, [] to signify this.

13. Drama – Highly encouraged, but don’t overdo it.

14. Content – This goes for sexual and violent content. Please fade to black as this is a kid friendly site.

15. I’ll give warnings for the first couple of times someone breaks a rule, but I’ll only give you up to three. After that, you’re banned.

Personality: North is a warrior with a heart of gold. Fierce, demanding, and impulsive, everything about him is larger than life. For North, nothing is impossible as long as he believes in it. ((Yes, this is what is says in the Wikia))
History: He was chosen by the Man in the Moon, sometime during the Dark Ages, to try and bring an end to the reign of darkness (caused by Pitch Black). His task soon became to bring wonder, his centre, to the Children of the World through making toys for Christmas. Employing the help of elves and yetis, he soon became the central figure of Christmas, becoming believed in by children all over the world.
Somethime later, he met the other 'chosen' ones - Bunnymund, Tooth and Sandy - and they became, collectively, the Guardians of the Children of the World. North became their leader figure, though they all still answered to the Man in the Moon, with his toy factory becoming their base whenever trouble arose.
One day, the globe in North's factory, which showed every believing child as a light, was covered in black sand. A shadow floated through the room, North immediately recognising the return of Pitch Black. Summoning all of the Guardians together, the all found out that it was time to elect a new Guardian: Jack Frost. After North's yetis brought a reluctant Jack through the portal, he tried to reason with the troublesome boy.

Powers: She makes her own homemade improvised bomb devices made of fruit, and when they explode, they emit a strong stench and a coloured, opaque mist, depending on what fruit it is. Also, Red owns two pistols that shoot fruit pips. She, too, has excellent agility skills and combat skills.
Centre: Courage
Personality: Red is very hot-headed and loud. She doesn't have many friends but finds it difficult to trust anyone and doesn’t like the fact that other Guardians are seen and she’s not. She’s also very protective and will snap at strangers if she doesn't like first appearences. Despite this, she’s extremely brave and will fight for anyone she cares about, no matter what the cost. She can also be nice to good friends.
History: Long story short, she'd come back on the way from a market and had proceeded to visit her best friend, William, and gone back to her grandmother and found her mauled corpse. She grabbed an axe and headed out for revenge. The wolf wasn't far gone and they fought, tearing each other apart. William came back to visit her as usual and found her in the woods, bloodied and mangled, but still alive. She made him promise to make her incident into a story, so she would be remembered, and William, a budding author, obliged, giving you the first version of the famous tale. As an immortal, she's closest to Spike Sinister, as they're both impish in nature, although they often fight. She's also friends with Angel and Prince, but they're not close and she recently met Time, who she really likes. Powers: Dream Sand used to help children sleep with happy, blissful dreams.

Personality: Sandman is peaceful by nature. He never speaks as he doesn't want to wake anyone up, but instead communicates with his expressions and forming images from his dream sand, which is odd because for one who never speaks, Sandy appears to have plenty to say. Though mostly peaceful and calm, Sandy is fierce fighter, able to create whips from his dream sand to attack his opponents. He finds those who threaten children intolerable, primarily because Sandy cares deeply for children and puts their well-being before his own. Sandy has a vivid imagination and a positive effect on his fellow Guardians, with all of whom he holds a beloved and deep friendship. Sandy can be a little silly and childish himself and can mistakenly take things literally. He also dislikes it when no one seems to notice or understand him when he's trying to communicate.
History: Sandman is the Rise of the Guardians re-imagining of the mythic bringer of dreams. He is the first ever Guardian, the Guardian of Dreams. He lives on a island. It appears that he is Pitch's true enemy, and really the only one that he is afraid of. Sadly, he was seemingly destroyed when Pitch turned him into a nightmare, but he returned, using a dreamsand whip to defeat him once and for all. He lives on his own island. Sandman's Island is a huge desert island that was created when a shooting star fell to Earth. The star didn't sink or explode, it just became an island. This island (and shooting star before it collapsed on Earth) is the home of Sandman. The island has long spiraling tendrils of lands, that come from the center. In the center there's a number of steep dunes and in the center of the dunes is where the Sandman can be found.

Personality: Claude is a good friend of Jamie but also he and Caleb mocked Jamie's belief in the supernatural creatures like Big Foot. Claude and Caleb are also friends with Pippa and Monty, and like the other children they were weary of Cupcake but were quick to let her take part in the fun, with some minor influence from Jack.
History: Claude is Caleb's twin brother and a friends of Jamie Bennett. He's a believer of the Guardians until Pitch's influence. He and his brother, Caleb suffer nightmares and eventually stop believing in the Guardians. With the help of Jamie and Jack, he and his brother regain their faith and take part in defeating Pitch and restoring Sandy's dream sand.

Valentina is a dreamer. Even when she was human she was forever wrapped up in a daydream, like most young girls she dreamt of finding her 'Prince Charming' and having a family, of course her accident changed all of that, but that's another story. Valentina is charming, graceful, sweet and a fighter. She's passionate and fiery which often gets her into trouble as she's not a stranger to snarling at someone who manages to get on her nerves, she's somewhat short tempered and it takes very little for her to snap. A particularly touchy topic for her is family, she oddly remembers her own and finds it hard to talk about how she lost them. Like every person Valentina is multi-faceted, she's also rather childish, she is easily amused and forever giggling over something that nobody else would find funny, she loves to be made to laugh which is a key quality her Prince Charming must have.

Her powers reflect her personality, one of her powers is the classic Cupid touch that makes the person she touches instantly fall in love with the person in her line of sight, of course this could get her into trouble if she misjudges a match, but {and she wasn't bragging} she hadn't made a bad match yet! This is the only power of hers that doesn't work with other Guardians for her benefit. She also has the ability to make someone feel the joy of love, without the infatuation of another person. Weapons she has are the katana she owns that can break shadow sand with ease, she is extremely skilled in hand to hand combat and quite the acrobat, she's advanced in martial arts as well, she had a lot of time to learn defence before she was called up as a guardian.

February 14th, 1992. {Valentine's Day.}
It was her 16th birthday, she was surrounded by her friends and family and she couldn't be happier, she closed her eyes before blowing out her birthday candles and made a wish; what she wished for is a secret known only to her - all she knows is that now, it'll probably never come true. She laughed at a joke her younger twin brothers told, they always brightened up the room, her gaze switched in turn to everyone in that room, her beautiful kind-hearted mother, her strong, comforting father, her somewhat witty, wise beyond their age yet awfully playful brothers and her best friends in the world, she was full of joy. After they'd eaten lunch, she took her brothers on a walk with her friends and as they were crossing a busy road she caught sight of a handsome boy down the sidewalk, she caught his eye and he smiled at her, the butterflies she felt were irreplacable, but that second of distraction was enough to seal her fate, as she was brought back to reality she noticed the sleek, black chevrolet camaro hurtling toward her brothers, she swore that time slowed down and what happened in a matter of seconds, felt like hours, she flung herself at her brothers pushing them out of the way, they both tumbled and grazed their knees and scuffed their hands but apart from that were no worse for wear, Valentina was allowed a last smile at her brothers and friends before the car impacted, she remembered a blinding pain, a shock of light and then nothing.. She was declared dead at the scene, and it was told that her love for her siblings was what saved their lives.
