due to digital artwork and the fact that the unicorn was modernized the stylistic belief is that unicorns look like the examples below not the old european style. these are the ones we are all used too.

I'm so glad that the CS unicorns (even the new ones) look far more accurate than these "cutesy" things.

Agreed 100% lol Those remind me of that movie Nico the Unicorn XDD

I am just glad that the unicorns even got new lines and that they took the time to do that for us. It would have been a lot easier just to stick a horn on the horse line art with some slight edits and be like "There. Unicorn." But I am glad Tess and Yulynh (as well as Sorren and Chia for doing the designs) are a lot nicer to us than that.

im actually more used to the old age European ones to b honest and in may ways I prefer em. as they have a unique quality about them rather than them just being horses with a horn on their head.

my only quarrels with the unicorns are the mane and tails and the horns. I just think they should have been toned down a bit.

I guess I should share my opinion on the unicorns.

I love the way they look now, and I can't wait for my favorite one {The Irish one} to be changed. However, I prefer having unicorns look more like This & This. The majestic, rippling mane and prominent horn, but also 'princessy', I guess. I don't like very many of my things 'girlie', but when I think 'unicorn', I picture the above.

Thank you,

~bo.

I think the eyes on the unicorn bother me a bit.. They are so... feminine? I Don't like feeling like my pets have an assigned gender, but I just feel like these are a little too girlie for me... =( I hope items will be edited to fit them though.

I saw someone use I believe the dark angry eye item to make their unicorn look more like a male, it worked pretty well ^^ but I think some items to fit the unicorns would be awesome!

It is not the artists fault if you apply the stereotypes of gender to a pixel pet. Unicorns are fantasy creatures, often have no assigned gender and are often portrayed as regal and proud creatures.

I like the unicorns. You're on a site aimed for younger people, and instead of complaining about how awful this is, why not be grateful? The staff is taking time out of their day to please us when they could just delete the old lines and be done with it.
Also, Ive never seen a unicorn drawn as any of those examples some of you are given. I've always seen them drawn as princess-y, femine creatures.
