Accepted, I never knew they were used to hunt badgers, I thought that they were used to drive out rabbits and rodents by climbing in their nests.

Do you know anything about Dachshunds?: dachsund is german for 'badger dog'. standard dachsund a are used to hunt badgers hile the mini dachshunds hunt rabbits. the breed is used to hunt these animals for the fact that they can go into their prey's burrows since they are long and low to the ground.

that's my dog, nina. she's about four or five years old. {{ not my picture but it was the closest one i could find }} she's a standard dachshund and she's was the runt of the litter. she's adorable, and my favorite dog ever. she's insanely nice and had doggy manners. i remember that when i went to go pick out a pup from the litter, the owners said they might put her down since everybody reserved most of the siblings and nobody had said anything about her. her parents and siblings where tan and she was the only Black and Tan one. so then i picked her and took her home. she became my best friend and she was always there for me. when she turned a year old the weirdest thing happened. i had just came home from school and there was two big brown female dachshunds playing with nina. i asked my mom what was up, and it turns put those two where her siblings. her sisters lucy and rose had been given up because their owners lost interest in them, and they have the dogs to us. we soon found them new homes, and then a few months later, the same thing happened. except this time it was with her brother corn-nut and her sister dora. we found new homes for them, but the thing i really liked was that the one that was originally not wanted was the only one to get a stable home <3
