MLP first attemp

Postby sunnyzhp2 » Sun Apr 07, 2013 6:05 am

This is my first time drawing MLP on the oekaki... I don't think I failed too much... except for the fact that I made it a cross between a pony and an alicorn, and the Background is terrible.

Please comment on how I can improve :D

I love it! My own first attempt was a bit worse than this, but I've always been a 'copier'; I'm best at copying the lines of pictures I have around and adding details.
I suggest working on details; the colors are wonderful, nicely blended. Details such as strands of hair in the mane and tail (just a few to accentuate the curve) and some individual tail-feathers of the Phoenix would work wonders - you've got the wings well in hand ^_^ I'm TOO detail-oriented sometimes, so don't go too overboard at first.
The wings should probably be bigger if this is ultimately an Alicorn, but it's a great first attempt in my opinion.

Where there is time, there is tomorrow. Somewhere in time, all sorrows pass to memory...
And so the End is the Beginning; Somewhere in time, we are as we're meant to be.
Though you may feel this is illusion; Somewhere in time, I know we're certain to meet...
Somewhere in time love is forever! A love that's here, a love that's now, to last for all time...

Well, when I first drew it, the wings were longer but it would go where the front legs would have started at and it would have looked really disorientated. I will try and fiddle with the wings so that they will look larger though, and detailed feathers are hard to do since I use a mouse. And thank you Flare.
