rattus wrote:*silently slides into thread* Well, I'm new to fursuiting and all that, and I'm currently building my first head. I've got it all foamed, would you guys be willing to critique it? ^^p.s. I'm sorry if there was a joining form or something- I didn't see one on the front page so i'm assuming that there isn't one...

No joining form that I saw XD like Wakpa said, I think anyone who likes wearing, is building, wants to build, is getting, etc. a fursuit or quadsuit or even just enjoys the costumes can post XD
I would be interested in seeing it ^^ We are all more than willing to try to help where we can!

That looks really good so far! The only things that I could see doing (personally XD) would be that I would carve down between the eyes a tiny bit just to make it a little bit smoother, and possibly thin down the cheek puffies on either side of the nose a tiny bit on the edges and stuff to smooth it out ^^ (but it is a little hard to tell how wide out it sits from the pictures lol)

I'm a Fursuit builder of oh gosh what is it now? six years? 9 technically if you count cosplay... for years now, and a costumer of more than two decades. I'm also a technical artist and have drawn anthros for just as long.
If you guys think it would be cool, I can draw a portrait for each furry of the month. Of course, I don't think that's been updated since 2011? c[ :
If anyone has questions, I've done everything in both suit-making and drawing. Resin casting, fiberglass, silicone casting, foam, animatronics, LEDs, digitigrade padding, stilts, toony, realistic and drawing in all mediums (I prefer digital, or oils.)
Also, while I consider myself a furry, I still haven't made a personal fursuit for myself (only commissions) or a fursona. Not sure why, I just haven't.

xD welcome to the fursuit thread <3 I will probably be bugging you for help with rigging up fans and LEDS and stuff in my costume in a while, but its been put on hold because of exams -_-
Do you have pictures of what you have made? Sounds like you have a lot more experience than the majority of us in fursuit making XD
Folfelit wrote:Fans and LEDs are something very doable for most people. Have you taken a high-school physics or conceptual physics class? Anything that would have taught a little wiring? If you have absolutely -no- idea how to wire, I'd recommend buying a kit, but if you're willing to learn, I can still teach you. :3
And due to a computer malfunction (namely my elderly father thinking adding aluminum foil to my computer would make it work better?!), I don't have anything from last month and before. I'll upload pictures as I go along. :] Actually, I can go and get a picture of a duct tape dummy that's got some bunny leg padding going on. I'll have to clean up a bit first (so I don't embarrass myself with a dirty workspace.)

I took first year university physics, so I know some, but I'm a little rusty lol I could figure it out though I am sure. I will also see what I can find by way of other tutorials suggesting good materials and stuff. Its a bit harder for me cause I am in a fairly small town and I don't like ordering online if I can avoid it.
Dang XD yea that doesn't sound good. Well, whenever you have time we would love to see pics xD no worries I understand about dirty workspaces
