-Halloween and Coma
"All hail the king!" Halloween's voice echoed throughout the hallways of the stoney castle. It was followed by his laugh, and then a crash as he fell from his dark throne.
"'King...?'" Coma commented, frowning down at his brother. "You're especially clueless today."
Halloween struggled to stop his laughter and to sit upright. "Yes! King! They thought I wanted to be king of Night." He was cut off by more spontaneous laughter. Finally, after a moment of being stared at blankly by Coma, the wolf managed to fend off his laughing and smirked. "If I wanted to be King, I could. But I have no interest in that. The Royals are full of themselves." He ran a paw over the pointy spikes of fur atop his head.
Coma shook his head and almost smiled as the spikes on his brother's head flopped back into place. "You shouldn't speak poorly of them, Halloween. We're powerful, with our Army, but they are Night itself. Would you enjoy being kicked out of Night and having to live in Day? The Army surely would abandon us. None of them are creatures of light, and we're included in that."
"Yes, but that doesn't disagree with the fact that we could beat them if it became a fight." Halloween responded as he climbed back into his big chair.
"While it's possible, I think it best not to try." Coma said dryly. He turned his gaze towards the entrance of the throne room as if he were expecting someone to enter, but no one did. He sighed and closed his eyes, seemingly ending the conversation.
Halloween smirked at his brother, then sat back and pondered what he had to do that day. The human village he'd heard about came to mind, causing a frown to form on his green and black face. The humans had dared to enter his forest....he wondered how they were faring against his Army. At that thought, a dark grin overtook the frown. "They should have read the warning signs...."
Crow
Crow flew over the human town that halfway constructed, examining the layout and number of people. It was a small settlement, not terribly far from the border. A small dirt road had been created leading to the town, and the dark oaks and pines of the forest had been cleared in an area for the construction. It irritated Crow severely to see this. The forest was the Army's land, and theirs to manipulate. Not the humans'. Humans did not belong in this land, unless they were members of the Army...and humans in the Army was a rare thing[though not unheard of].
Of course, this gave the bird a rare opportunity to both test her potions and defend the Army's territory. Usually no one challenged the Army about its land, so it wasn't often that anyone got to defend it. But now the members did. They'd been given permission by Halloween, but she was positive that they would have taken their anger out on the human town anyway. The forest in which the Army resided was the a sanctuary- and invaders were not welcome.
Crow swooped down and landed on the black-shingled rooftop of a completed building. At least, she thought, they were sticking with the theme. The entire town looked haunted and creepy. Even the people looked morbid and dark. But that didn't change the fact that they were enemies, and the alchemist grinned at the thought of using her poisons on them. In the name of science!
Crow examined the house for windows and found an open one in an upstairs bedroom. She flapped inside and landed on the bedpost. No one was in the room, but she could hear them downstairs. There was a glass of drink on the bedside table, and that was her target. She hopped over to where she was above the glass and dug around in her bag until she found a vial of redish liquid. With her beak she uncorked her potion and poured the contents into the glass. As she was finishing, the sound of someone approaching the door could be heard. Quickly, she put the bottle back in her bag and flew from the room. She'd be back at dusk of the next day to see the results.
