What do you hoard?
I hoard White Lolitas, the 2012 April Fools Butterdog, the Lynx PPS, and the January '09 rainbow litter :3

Why do you hoard them?
I love the design, especially the eyes on the White Lolitas, and I think they are all unique in some way c:

How large is your hoard?
Four WLs, 5 Butterdogs, 5 LPPSs, and 6 rainbow dogs =D

What is your goal for the hoard?
Not sure, really. Until all my fodder runs out.

Do you overpay for hoard pets/items?
I try to, yes

What was the first pet/item in your hoard?
Erin, my first Lolita. The White lolita was my dreamie, and when i got one I was ecstatic. I never really thought about getting another one for a solid five months, until I traded for Mary, my second, on an impulse :3 When i had two, I thought, hey, a new hoard! Thus, Erin and Mary were soon joined by Megan, and most recently, Devon. Hopefully there will be more in the future :3

Roommate and I are both hoarding the black bunny dogs from Easter. I don't recommend hoarding newborns or 2nd stage animals because they DO look different in adult stage. *glares at pages of the red Tess wood dog STILL in her trade section.*

I just /had/ to start a mini-hoard of the gorgeous lightning bunnies x3
I already have a finished one of the rats they're designed after; the theme is simply too cool to resist c:

Also guessing that I might end up hoarding the new Chia dog litter.
That is, if they don't turn out too colourful in the end. A little bit adds a nice touch, but I'd prefer them to stay mostly gray ^^

I have a question as well:
How do you handle trading for your hoard pets, either versus your collection or versus other hoards?
One of my biggest problems is that I have a lot of hoards. I have over ten unfinished ones at the moment, some of which have goals of hundred and more, as well as eight endless hoards.
On one hand I'd like to put my limited hoards first, so that I can finish them, but on the other, I simply cannot resist the others whenever I see them in a trade group.
And even then it's hard to make a decision. Do I take lightning owls and nebula dogs, or do I try to offer on the store unicorn?
This hasn't been much of a problem when I started hoarding, because I only had a handful of hoards with rather small goals, but by now it's really becoming hard to handle .-.

What do you hoard?
Too many minihoards to post, but my endless ones are:
Sushi PPS, Arrow/Lightning owls, Blue Nebula dogs, Cake/pastry based pets, Jelly ponies, Store Unicorns, all pets with the Vixen advent design, all pets with the UR bwolf design.

Why do you hoard them?
Sometimes I hoard pets simply because I adore their design, sometimes because they have a special meaning to me - and often because of both combined x3
My hoard of Sushi PPS cats, Lightning owls, Vixen pets and URB pets is mostly a design choice. I love their looks, and in case of the last two, they were actual dream pets of mine, which I then wanted more than one of xD
They started out as purely look-based hoards, but by now have grown on me for other reasons as well.
The Sushi cats just make me smile with their cute little faces. The hoard is therefore named "Smile!"
The Vixen pets always remind me of fire, which is why I named almost all the dogs after stars, and the group "Sic Itur Ad Astra".
The URB pets have earth-like colours, and are all named after periods, eons etc. of the geological timescale, to reflect my interest for both, Geography and Paleontology. The hoard's name is "Dawn of a New World".
And the lightning owls... well, they simply look super cool. They're my favourite litter on all of CS. And they're called "Trust, Follow, Obey" because I like to see them as my mighty army xD

My Blue Nebula dog hoard started because I really, really love their design (favourite dog on the site x3). And because they remind me of the cover art of Holographic Universe, an album by my favourite band, Scar Symmetry.
The hoard is named after the album, obviously.

Cake/Pastry pets are a hoard I started as a tribute to the game Portal. Also, because I love cake xD
The group's name is "Aperture Science Bakery Division".

The Store Unicorns are all named after Planets, Characters or Cities from Dan Simmons' Hyperion Cantos. Those books are awesome, and I'm a sucker for starry designs, so I absolutely couldn't resist hoarding those horses x)
They are named "Heaven's Gate", which is not only a planet from the books, but also the name of a song by Keldian, one of my favourite bands, whose members happen to love the books as well x)

My newest endless hoard are the Jelly Ponies. I only hoard the red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple outcomes.
This hoard started just recently because I didn't like the ponies before. Ever since Chia transferred the design to the Yulynh lineart, however, they look much more appealing to me.
With the way she handled the shine on them, they remind me not only of Jelly, but of Luxin, a substance from Brent Weeks' Lightbringer series.
Needless to say that I love these books, and totally had to hoard those ponies xD
Hoard is named "Welcome to the Chromeria".

What is your goal for the hoard?
Most of my limited ones have goals between 20 and 50. Sometimes I also set it as high as 100+, and I have four hoards with goals of 1000.
For the endless ones - well, there is no end goal. I just want to see them grow <3
Four of them hold hoard records which I'd like to keep, though xD

Do you overpay for hoard pets/items?
Yes. It's not unusual for me to pay uncommons for vc/common hoard pets, or older rares for newer ones.
I'm terrible at handling my fodder, really. But it's worth it, absolutely c:

What was the first pet/item in your hoard?
I don't remember all of them, especially with litters like the sushi cats xD But a few hold a special place in my heart <3

Gladys, my first cake pet, Noranjell, my first jelly pony, and Lethara, my first vixen (originally self-adopted, but given to someone else for a short while).

I started hoarding the Blue Sunjewel yesterday c: I got sixteen from a quitting user, and since I've always loved them, I decided it was time to start a hoard of them. I'm calling it 'Tardis Blue'

I'm probably not much help because most of my hoards are mini (20-50). But I would put 'temporary' limits on your hoards. Short terms goals? Like, I'll try and get this many before so and so date. That way you've set a temp goal and can see what you're currently looking for before you hit your deadline. I do like, 4-5 mini hoards a month, so I'd take, like, 2 hoards; and strictly focus on them. Then after I finish my goals for those, I move on to the next set I want to finish. If any of that makes sense x3 Perhaps even limit yourself - because one great thing about hoards; if you get too many at one time, your trade fodder is going to diminish before you even blink twice, y'know? So just try and take limits. And if you just absolutely have to hoard a pet, but don't have the time/fodder for it at the moment, make a note to yourself :) come back to it later. I did that when I wanted to hoard these guys

I wanted to hoard them back in 2010, but I just made a note to myself and came back to hoard them about a year ago I believe. So yes, I don't know if that helped at all.

When it comes to collection however, I really try to separate what I'm willing to trade for hoards, versus collection. I keep pets that I know I'll trade up to pets I want strictly for collection in locked or WL locked groups - that way I can keep myself from trading them off. Otherwise, I make a 'regular trades' group, for pets I didn't really care for or like, and use those types of pets for hoards.
