I think this is enough, this has been suggested before, nothing has been done about it because we won't be getting rid of the messages. They are there for a reason, to discourage trading the pound pets. You don't have to read them, you can delete them or have them auto deleted.

Yes, but the thing is, a lot of younger users won't know how to disable them or delete them (I didn't until recently.) and can be upset by them. It's guilt trippy, whether it was meant like that or not.

100% support.

There's no point in supporting this since it won't happen as Nadine just said.

Nadine is not a mod or an admin, hence they don't really have a say. They are a user just like the rest of us, only they have a colored name for helping people. I'm not asking for the messages to be removed like Nadine said, I'm asking to have an option so I'm not spammed for trading, which is the point of the game. :)

If that's not enough, here's some nice points of why we should have an option:
[*]It upsets people. I mean, really, come on now. I'm sure people who have lost an actual pet don't want to hear about their pixels on the screen potentially having been "put to sleep". It's rude, and if they get it once, they probably won't want to see it again.
[*]There's plenty of people who support this idea, as evidenced by the amount posting. We're just asking for an option, instead of setting up filters that delete messages we may need (such as sending myself reminders).
[*]The message just doesn't work in most cases, it's spam, I could go on and on with these bullets, really. Just give us an option, please.

While the point of the game may be trading, the point of the pound is for you to adopt a pet you want, not a pet you'll use as trade fodder.

I won't believe that one or consider it a proper argument until it's actually written plain as day on the Pound page, instead of in a random thread from over half a year ago. ;) Things change on this site.

I may not be a moderator, but I do have knowledge of the topic and a say in this topic as much as anyone else.
And if you want an option, then you should state that more clearly in the first post, as the way it's worded makes it look like you want them removed.

Agreed.

And it's not like people trading pound pets only got them for fodder. They might be passing the pet to a friend they know wants the pet more, or got a good catch that they don't really need so they give it away to someone more deserving.

Nadine- It's in the title. "An option to disable messages "from your pet"" and repeated several times in the first post.

... I must be really cold hearted or something if the message actually makes me giggle... O.o or maybe it's just because the only pets I ever had we're fishes and I don't know way it's like to have a pet 'put down' o.O

If people are seriously upset and crying over the message (which I didn't realize was possible; my apologies for that D: ) then maybe the message should be changed a bit at the very least? Maybe something like "no one had even considered adopting me for such a long time until you decided to" or something?

On my phone sorry for awkwardness

I totally support this, I'm sorry, but when I go to the pound, sometimes I look for pets I want, but I also look for trading fodder, as a fairly new user it is one of the easier ways to get hard to reach pets to help you trade for the hard to reach pets you really really want. :/

This is a website of pixels, and yes they're cute and fun, but I do not like getting guilt trip messages when I'm trying to trade for something I REALLY want, just because one of the pets was from the pound.

More often than not, none of the pets offered to me are anything I DO want on the pound page, but at least I can get a few to trade with.
At the very least it should be optional to get rid of, without having to go through hoops to get rid of it. It says no where on the POUND PAGE that you shouldn't trade them away, and if you REALLY wanted to prevent it you would make it impossible to trade pound pets period.

It just clogs up mail boxes and is fairly annoying, and to younger kids might be very upsetting, on a site that is all about trading up and for things you want it seems contradictory.

Even changing the message to something that stays away from giving the pets feelings, like so:
Using the pound to gain trade fodder is frowned upon. While you may still trade your pet, remember that the intention of the pound is to give you a chance at adopting a pet you will keep.

Being as CS pets just sit in groups and there is no "taking care" of them, I see no reason why we need to make them seem real.

I know i've already posted but pets, again, I have had a year + from the pound, are 'sending' me messages o:
No don't get me wrong i some what liek the message until "put me to sleep." it should be changed to "put me in the wild". Honestly many shelters/pounds I have here are no kill and they're the best and very popular way over the killing/sleeping ones. Honestly I understand it's looked down upon, but still. I think there's more coppa'd people then people who are able to post on this site and for them to read that suspressing message-I feel more bad for the person then the pet okay. I understand it won't be removed but in a way as a teenager I still am childish/immature, and reading that chickensmoothie of all places is using the sleep/kill card-Kinda rude ya' think? Also some kids do try and 'take care of them'. Many people do. You have no clue how hard one of my old friend cried from a dragon on dragoncave dying, or any thing on adoption sites. Just cause it is a computer image does not mean you can't feel for it, but just cause it's a computer image it's kinda PRESSURING to read that, I am trying to be social, I got a message, i go to my inbox there's the depressing message to ruin my mood. I now do not like these messages =^=

I say to allow us to have the option. I rarely ever trade, but now and then I go to trade a pet and receive this message. The message is a guilt trip, it's horrible for those who are sensitive toward this kind of thing, and also it's a bit cumbersome and annoying.
The first time I saw this (when I first joined), it was a guilt trip. It made me feel bad and it did upset me. Now it just annoys me and I wish that it would be removed.
I'm guessing one of the rules on CS would be to not spread around spam? Well, this message is spam.

Giving us the option to remove it would be lovely, the option to chose that we don't want to be guilt tripped every time we go to trade a pet that was from the pound, then forgotten that it was gained via pound, and is a useful pet for a trade/you don't even like the pet that much.

The point of the pound should be: Gain a free pet - Chance at a rare pet - A good place for new users to gain wishlist pets.
Not: Guilt trip - 'take care of pixel pets' (Whom, by the way, have no gender, cannot be cared for, their only purpose is to be collected and traded).

So in short, I agree, we should be given the option to remove this message.

Just a thought to think on: If we're suppose to be guilt tripped into keeping a pet that has a chance of being 'put down', then why do we get to have a deletion button on the pet's page? Isn't that no different than 'putting the pet down'?
