^^^^^Max^^^^^^^^

I got max 3 years ago,he was given to us by a person who couldnt aford to keep him. Right away he was terrified of men and we where informed that he was abused in the past witch made me want to cry considering how sweet Max is. Well Max didnt trust any one and this made me nervouse because we live in the country and I was afread he would run away, so every day for 2 years I went out side and I played with him I tought him tricks and I earned his trust. As I did his personality started to come out and he is probably the cuttest and the sweetest dog I have ever met, witch made it even harder to think he had been abused. Every night he sleeps right next to me and every mourning he walks me down to the bus, and every day after school he meets me at the bus and walks me up the big hill leading to my house. But I do fear with my parents seperating I might have to give max away but I am going to try to fight to keep him because I know he has grown to love me, because he trys to protect me from every thing. One time at the beach a dog came at me growling and pushed me to the ground, max jumped infront of me and grabbed ahold of the dog pushing it away, I feel if max had not been there then that dog would have hurt me pretty bad. Also Me never licks any one but when I cry he is alkways there to lick the tears off my cheeks and he is always there to let me cry into his fur.I have learnd from my dog that no matter what you have been through you can always rise above it because Max sure has.

WHAT I LEARED FROM MY RATS:
rats a porrly miss judged creatures, like me, i am miss judged, so are rats, pitbulls, and hamsters (YES, HAMSTERS every 1 thinks there cute and cuddly but from my experience MOST are vicious little balls of hell!) were ALL missjudged, unfortunately. rats ARE NOT ugly and discusting: perhps there anscestors were, but not mine, they are tame, WADDA YA THINK A SQURELL IS; A RAT W/ A FLUFFY TAIL! NOT TO MENTON: you can hand rear a squrell and in two years time it will bite right through your finger, hand rear a rat and it will be your best companion for the rest of your lives.
WHAT I LEARED FROM MY CATS:

CATS ARE NOT EVIL; they are amzingly awsome and enjoyable pets, grantied, most female cats are not the best. MALE CATS ARE AWSOME!
WHAT I LEARNED FROM MY PETS IN GENERAL:
PEOPLE ARE BACK STABBING KINIVING B******! now animals, provided you take care of and love them, they will return that love, and then some! best friend-backstabbing+mom+dad+awsome+best bro+best sis= A PET! THAT is the formula to make a pet..... -_- SO in short your pets are better thatn friends, familyt and lack therof, so.....

THIS HAS BEEN THE FIRST INSTALMENT OF: WHAT BUZZY LEARNED FROM THOSE CRAZY PETS! enjoy ^^
When I found a way to come down, a disguise of yourself without me.
Your heart was so strong, I thought you'd moved on
but you can't carry on without me.
I was thrown from my mind and now I'm here to beg you
to move on with your life. You can leave me behind.
I am the voice in your head that tells you it's alright.
I was thrown from my mind with no one there to catch me
To lead me back to life. Had to leave it behind and I have to accept it
The way it all has to be.©

I have another story on the 13th?? Pg.
The Saturday after Christmas my parents got us a cat. Her name was Tessa I loved her from the moment I saw her. She was a stray for one and a half years (that's how old she is.) and had a Kit in December, but her kitten died ( Due to her small size she only had one) They got her fixed a week earlier. Then we brought her home..
We took her out of her cage and let our 3 dogs sniff her. Sadie tried to kill her :,(, I has heartbroken my parents said we couldn't keep her if Sadie tries to kill her. Now it is a month later and we still have her, She lives in our basement and we go to the top of the steps and poke her paw through the gate and smack the dogs! She is brave enough to come up here. Once I was eating my lunch (Cheetos) she went in the bag and started eating them! Her face was a bright orange!
What I learned from Tessa (or kitty, and Kit-kat) is never give up. One day you'll be brave enough and you'll get the job done.

@Elizabeth24, Does Max have some beagle or Australian Heeler in him? His tail suggests that he has something like that :3

I year and a half ago, my family got 2 free horses, a palomino mare & a sorrel mare (chestnut), they were Stella & Ginger, both were nice 'old ladies' who couldnt give a darneder about what went on about them.
Now note, from the end of my driveway you have a clear view of the horse dry lot. One day in the late fall, my mum picked me up from the end of the driveway (I live out in the country) and I spotted Stella laying out in the lot, not unusual it was a nice warm day to lay out and soak up the sun, and I said "Looks like Stellas' playing dead", well that wasnt far from the truth, we decided to check up on her, but she had passed sometime that day, her lesson was you dont know who you have till theyre gone.
Ginger was a beautiful old quarter grade horse, she had a sway back and ribs to show from old age (dont get on me by thinking Im saying her back and ribs were nice, I was talking about her personality and coloring), along with a beautiful marking on her face that -literally- looked like a flickering candle, One night I came into the horse barn and she was laying on the floor with heavy, labored breathing, struggling and acting like she wanted to get up, I knew her time was near, so we called the vet but by the time he got to my house, she was gone. Gingers lesson? Even the old can teach you something new, along with love and patience.

Looking for:

Sit tall in the saddle;
hold your head up high. Keep your eyes fixed
where the trail meets the sky,
and live like you ain't afraid to die. And don't be scared,
just enjoy your ride.

When i was a child, I was practically raised by my grandad's old Springer Spaniel, Glen. I have went to my grandads house atleast once a week for as long as i can remember, and i always looked forward to seeing Glen. Growing up I have never really been accepted into society, people always focus upon what's different about you, and twist it into something negative. A dog, or any other animal for that matter, will never do such a thing. Animals have a beautiful innocence that unfortunately most people don't possess. Even in my grandads house there were bullies out in the street, but when Glen was out they wouldn't come anywhere near me! Well...it was probably because he was pretty territorial when it came to other dogs...bu not people. At least that image of him kept people at bay, but my friends, my real friends, and I knew him for he really was. he was a sweet old dog, I could never understand how he was older than me, I thought it was weird how a dog could be older than me, but i was young. Every day (when i stayed) I would wake up and run straight down to feed him, he was always waiting at the door for me, expecting me. he always followed me everywhere and I often protested to sit in the boot/trunk of the car with him, so my grandad would have to go out and get the removable seats.
He died at the age of 15, it was one of the worst things that happened to me. I stopped going out all together in fear of people returning to pick on me, and I was just sad that all and all I had lost my Best friend. I honestly haven't had a friend like him. My parents wouldn't let me get a pet, and people...well... they just don't understand me. I have been trying for almost 5 years to get a dog now, and i think i might actually be getting one now, before Christmas apparently. If i will or not, I don't know, but Glen taught me how you can really depend on a dog. That they won't judge you, or hurt your feelings...they will just be there for you, and return the never ending love that you show them. A dog is a friend for life, and no matter who you are, things will remain that way.
That goes for any other animal too, it was just in this case it was a dog, but all animals are beautiful creatures.
Thank you for reading, if you took the time to.

Wolf Luv, I agree. Animals are beautifully simple, and I am inspired by your story. I wish you luck in getting another dog; I have been through a similar experience and another dog really fills the hole in your heart.
What a view, huh?

Merlin, my horsefield tortoise helped me learn a few things. When we got him for my twelfth birthday, I was really excited to finally have my own pet, besides the family dogs. We set up a cage for him with clean coconut shavings, a water dish and a food tray. I was determined to clean his cage everyday, give him treats, ect. However, soon, I lost interest: he turned out to just sit under the lamp all day, a "boring" creature. I cleaned his cage less and less often and sort of just shoved food inside. My birthday is in January, so it was a long time until summer came. Then, under the pressure from my mom, I let him outside to "graze". But, instead, timidly at first, he ran. It turned out that inside of the "boring", small creature, there was a wild explorer. Now, I have his cage set up with logs to climb on, toys, and large piles of hay and dirt.

Re: What I learned from my Pets

I think this is the third time I've posted here. But I have a new story to add to my other two. :3

So, we got this new puppy. If anyone's seen my other stories with my beagle, Savannah, and my black cat, CHucky, I'll assure you the two of them are happy, healthy, and good friends.
This puppy was dumped into our life. Literally.

It all began at my mom's work. SHe said a man knocked on the door to her work's main lobby, bringing a puppy. He looked like a min pin and chihuahua mixture, with cute semi-floppy ears to go with big brown eyes. He had chocolate brown fur with ginger markings that reminded my family of a Rottweiler.
He was adorable, and absolutely adored people.
He came in, claiming this puppy was found on the side of the road, prepared to run out into the street.
Since my mom was the only eligible candidate in the office, she took the puppy home.

After school, I get dropped off at my grandmother's house. When my mom came to pick me up, she said, "I have a surprise for you!"
Teasing her, I said in a little girl's voice, "Is it a puppy?!"
My mom's smile flickered, but I didn't take it seriously. I kept going on in this voice, squealing about getting a new kitty (Fat chance. My step-dad has allergies when it comes to cats. That's why mine's in the basement.) or a new pony. Honestly, I thought it would be that new video game I had been saving up for.

I heard this really high-pitched whining as I walked in. It obviously wasn't Savannah, since she had a deeper whine.
I looked into the cardboard box in the middle of my kitchen, and stared down at an adorable puppy with rather stinky breath.
I couldn't believe my teasing statement about getting a puppy become a literal statement within heartbeats.

We decided to keep the pup. Unfortunately, this made my beagle jealous. She attempted to run away plenty of times, even though I gave her so much attention that I thought she would be become annoyed.
She slowly warmed up to the puppy. She went from being lazy to being the bouncing beagle she was when we got her. SHe would relentlessly chase the puppy around, wrestling with him and allowing him to chew on her ears.

Keep in mind that Savannah is a gentle girl. My little brothers both decided to yank on her ears at once, and she didn't mind. She gently licked them to make them stop, then snuggled up to them, letting them stroke her fur the wrong way.
SHe has never bitten anyone, but her energetic nature around people makes that a statement an unbelievable one.

Chucky hated the puppy, and still does. As soon as he spotted the little rascal, he hid behind Savannah and hissed loudly, yellow-green eyes narrowing to slits.

We named the puppy Rudy. He's a bouncy little ball of fuzz. LIterally. He can't keep still, and loves to jump as high as he possibly can. He jumps onto my lap on the swing. He bounces into his kennel, which we had to stack on top of Savannah's to make room in the kitchen.
He scarfs down his food like he hasn't eaten in years, and always tries to steal Savannah's. Because of this, we have to put the two dogs in their kennels when they start eating.
While Savannah resents going outside in the morning, he's the first to dart onto the wooden deck and run in circles in the yard.

Savannah seems to have taught him a few things.

Rule #1: When the masters return, if you're outside, become excited. If you're inside, become excited.
Rule #2: Lick the floor as soon as you come inside. No matter what, before love comes possible food particles.
Rule #3: When they tell you a command that I know, copy what I do. Always copy what I do.

And I'm pretty sure she's taught him more than this.

When Rudy arrived, I thought I would love him more than I loved Savannah. That beagle is my constant companion, the dog I can love, and get love in return. I didn't want to get too attached, in case that happened. It would be like betrayal in my mind.
Once Savannah realized her spot as "alpha dog" wouldn't be threatened, she didn't seem to mind me playing with Rudy.
She would even play with Rudy and I, joining in the fun.
And Rudy is very welcoming, and enjoys her company. She's like his big sister, and he is like her little brother.

They both taught me that it's okay to love more than one pet at once. And Savannah seems so much happier with Rudy around. I can tell they'll be great friends as the years go on, and I hope they both live long, happy lives with one another. C:
