"It's Redkit, he's getting feverish and he's coughing and sneezing." Sunshine explained, caressing the small ginger kit with her tail absently, her eyes betraying her worry.

"Redkit has Green cough." Foxpaw warned. "Go back to the nursery, we dont want you to catch it."

[EO+RS]

"I don't want to leave him. He still needs milk." said Sunshine, looking for extra excuses to be with Redkit as much as possible.

[sylveonite]

"You need to go. If you get it, you'll give it to Cherrykit and Nutkit." Foxpaw meowed. "You'd get it too."

[EO+RS]

"But..." Sunshine looked desperate, glancing around and huddling her kit between her paws. Then she bent down and gave Redkit another lick. "Be good for Foxpaw and Honeyleaf." she ordered her kit. "And... Foxpaw... tell me if... if..." she couldn't make herself finish the sentence as she nuzzled Redkit, closing her eyes. She didn't look as she practically wrenched her heart out, trying to leave the medicine den, and one of her precious kits.

Redkit nodded, bounding forwards to Foxpaw. Foxpaw looked up, "Yes?" He meowed, arching her too finsh.

[EO+RS]

"If I have to... I want to be here if... I don't want him to be alone at... at his... end." she could barely choke the last word out, ducking her head and leaving the den. She didn't want Redkit to know how scared she was for him, with deadly greencough... she made her way back to the nursery, tears falling one by one, making a trail. Her tail was drooped and her head was bowed as she came back to the nursery in deep sorrow, lying down and pressing her nose to Cherrykit, who was fast asleep in the moss of their nest.

Foxpaw made a small nest for him then got Honeyleaf.

"I am NOT losing a kit!" She snarls and gives him catmint and parsley.

[EO+RS]

"Flintbreeze... Redkit... has... greencough..." Sunshine told him painfully, nosing Cherrykit's fur, looking for comfort.
