I'm thinking the new items are less rare than the animal eggs, but still not as common as for everyone to get one immediately, enough for some to get multiples easily though.

XD I think the problem is that the banner is a bit too fair. It's purely random chance, so of course since there are so many people statistically it only makes sense that some people will end up with a bunch while others won't get any.

Yes, but it's quite funny, because there are so many extremes. Getting many and getting none at all, it's either or.
