@Blue-Moon, that's the idea, a way of disabling it with a tick box (so it wouldn't be removed altogether from the site, it would just be an opt-in or opt-out kind of thing), it''s not about removing them from the site for good.

Hoof wrote:I just want to add onto the conversation really quick for my brother because he's COPPA.

Younger users might find this message upsetting. My brother feels really guilty and upset almost every time he wants to trade a pet he got from the pound.

We both know why those messages are sent out, but the fact that they're rather disturbing needs to be changed. If they can't make an option to disable the message, then they should at the very least CHANGE the message to make it a bit less upsetting.

I agree with Hoof on this issue.

Huh I must of read wrong then.
But I didn't read the last few pages (only the first one and a half pages) But I do say there is two pets i got from the pound about a year ago (yes about that.) that i am trading. I no longer really have a connection to them so why not? It's better for a pet to go to a new home then it being put down (hard way this is kinda the worst part of the message.) or being deleted (again a bit more detrimental.) So seeing how this is going I some what support.

It's a good thing to mention too, that even if you have the filter set up to delete them You still get the (1) New Message alert and it won't go away until you actually do look at your inbox, which completely nulls the point of making a filter. Going to your inbox just to find "one message was deleted because of a filter" is just as irritating and pointless as going there to see a message about a pound pet you're trading.

... I, uh, didn't know that O__o; though I don't really get why would the system notify you of messages that were deleted because of a filter, but that's for another time xD
Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.

This isnt true. I've used the filter thing before and if you have it set up to automatically delete messages you dont get a notification for it

I can give you a video of it happening if you want. I have it set to delete messages if it's from myself. And whenever I send a trade with a pet I got from the pound it still alerts me.

I think this is enough, this has been suggested before, nothing has been done about it because we won't be getting rid of the messages. They are there for a reason, to discourage trading the pound pets. You don't have to read them, you can delete them or have them auto deleted.

Yes, but the thing is, a lot of younger users won't know how to disable them or delete them (I didn't until recently.) and can be upset by them. It's guilt trippy, whether it was meant like that or not.

100% support.

There's no point in supporting this since it won't happen as Nadine just said.

Perhaps we can meet middle ground somewhere? At least make the message a little less sob-story. And like I pointed out before- it doesn't even work with all of the species on CS today.
"They were going to put me to sleep because nobody wanted me, but then you came and stroked me softly through the bars of my cage and took me home with you."
That doesn't exactly work with Malk Bettas or Kois, or with horses/ponies (not in cages). And it makes the Pound seem to be some sort of depressing kill shelter.

Also, NO WHERE on the pound page does it say anything about trading pound pets to be frowned upon. I know that it used to say this, and there are forum topics that say it, but players who only visit the pound, don't hunt these threads down and are newer and weren't there for the old page would NOT know that this isn't okay until they get the message, which doesn't seem quite fair to them. At LEAST CS could put this somewhere so it doesn't startle players who have never encountered this before and potentially end up making them confused or assume it is totally against the rules. They might not even remember the pet they are trading came from the pound.
