I'm not a hurdler, but I am a distance runner, and I would not recommend training with distance runnwrs. The type of endurance you need is different. Distance runners learn to pace themselves and strategize, but 300 meter hurdles requires a faster reaction. I would continue training with the sprinters. You probably aren't used to racing yet. Remember-every race is tiring! The 300 hurdles is probably more similar to the 400, which is a sprint.

Well, I don't know much as of right now, but I'm planning on doing hurdles, so I could ask my coach may questions and hopefully get some answered for you as well.
Me: Hey coach, my friend on chicken smoothie has some questions!
coach: ummmmm
Haha that would be sorta awkward/funny... LOL

Hmm...I usually work with sprinters rather than distance runners and I'm running the 300m hurdles. If you have enough mid-distance runners that they train seperately from the distance runners then I'd train with them. But hurdlers are not built to run miles upon miles XD

I was out of running for about 3 months bc I had runners knee... Basically, I had fluid build up and my knee cap wouldn't stay on track, so I got to wear special tape that helped a lot, but I couldn't bend my knee as far as I normally could... But anyway, I ran for those 3 months, but only for about 15-30 minutes a day with two days off a week. So, last Thursday I had a meet, ran the 4x8 and mile... (We got 1st in the 4x8, & I was anchor, so I didn't have to work very hard) but my mile? 6.01.... For me, that's bad. I need to be getting 5.20s. But my breathing is soooo screwed up now bc of those months off! Like, nothing hurts, I'm not sore or anything, but I just have such a hard time breathing!! Anybody else come back from an injury and have this problem?

Do you have a mid-distance group? If so, I would recommend that, but it really matters what you want to focus on, the 300 or 100? At my school, my coach puts almost all focus on the 100 hurdles, so I offset that by going to mid-distance practice once a week.
Whoops, I didn't see that you already had that answered.
