[Implemented] An option to disable messages "from your pet"

I honestly have no idea why people aren't supporting this!

First of all, it's suggested as an option. If you like it, keep it on. If you don't, keep it off. Simple as that.

Also, one of the main features of this site is to TRADE. Yes, we pick the pets we like, and that's the point, isn't it? And if we trade for a pet we like more, then we do. Why do we need to be spammed with this?

PM role players (like myself) get their inbox very cluttered very fast. It's a pain getting these useless messages...

Also, not to state the obvious, the pets we trade ARE NOT REAL. Why should we feel guilty for trading for the ones we like more?

While it would be a crappy, silly rule to only adopt pets from the pound that you will keep, it's better to enforce that rule than say "Oh, you shouldn't do this, but you can anyways. But if you do, we can spam you with sappy, random crap that 'guilt trips' you, and can upset young users. :D"

The point of the message is to discourage you from trading your pound pets not guilt trip you. It's like the real world, if you adopt a pet from the pound, you adopt it to keep not to just find some random person on the street and trade it to him for money or something else.

The point of the message is to discourage you from trading your pound pets not guilt trip you. It's like the real world, if you adopt a pet from the pound, you adopt it to keep not to just find some random person on the street and trade it to him for money or something else.

It might not be an intentional guilt trip, but it's still a guilt trip. Like I said, when I was a younger user, that message really upset me, so it'd be nice to have the option to disable it.
Also, these are pixels, not real pets. The comparison there is pretty silly.

I completely agree with this. It's an option - it's not mandatory. It's silly that people are disagreeing with this.

It's also an option to just delete it and not read it, and there are ways to disable it, as nickjr already showed how on the first page of this.

Why do we get a sad message if we trade a pet away but not when we delete a pet? If we want to be sentimental about it, then a sad message about deleting a pet, which is- in a sense- "killing" it, seems much more fitting and necessary than trading a pound pet away. If we know the pet is going to someone who wants it more than we do, and we know that that person likely won't trade it off, why should we get a message about it?

My thoughts exactly.
When you trade a pound pet, you're giving it to somebody else. It's still being saved from the pound. What if it will be loved even more by the next person?

Deleting pets I think is something far worse than trading pound pets, but you don't get a sad message discouraging you...

Kida, I think you should do a poll for this because people are just saying they agree and disagree with other people. When you make a poll, you can see how many people who haven't already posted their opinion and in addition the people who have already posted their idea but changed their mind.

Although it is true that you can just tick the messages and delete them, I really find it quite annoying I have to every time I trade a Pound Pet away. I hear and know all about how it's frowned upon and discouraging to trade away Pound Pets, but just because I adopt pets from the pound and sometimes trade them for pets I want more doesn't mean if I was to adopt a pet in real life I would hand it over to a stranger for another pet I liked more -.- I believe I'm correct in saying these are just pixel pets, not real life animals people adopt and trade away (for those who do).
