"Maybe it's all the new faces?" Mint offered, eyeing Saltlick warily. She had to be careful with that thing, it could give her away.

"P-Probably not" Bullrush mused "Hydrus' don't have very good eyesight. They rely mostly on scent, sound and touch" He remembered when Saltlick had first brushed past him, and the yelps of fear when the creature had realised he hadn't found a pony at all. Bullrush considered what else he was supposed to say in these conversations. Oh. Right.
"I'm Bullrush, by the way. I'm the ship cook, and doctor..."

"I'm Mint Rush, it's nice to meet you." She offered. "'Hydrus'. Is that what he is? I've never heard of it." She added as an after thought, nodding at Saltlick.

"You probably wouldn't have" Bullrush explained. Ok. This was something he could talk about "They're extremely rare. A lot of ponies don't even know they exist. They kind of faded into legend. A lot of ponies only see them for seconds and they just think they're otters or something. Or they find the prey and they're just completely puzzled. They don't really approach ponies"

"Really? That's interesting..." Mint answered, and to her surprise, she actually meant it. "If they don't usually approach ponies though, how did you meet him?" She asked. He seemed to enjoy this topic, he had stopped stuttering anyways.

Bullrush stiffened a little but continued on ok "I found him washed up in some oil as a pup. He was pretty weak, so I took him home and nursed him back to health again. I meant to set him free but he never really left so I just kind of...kept him around. I live out of the way so it wasn't like he would disturb the neighbours" Bullrush spoke more easily now. After he got over the initial nerves he was ok. He shifted his weight from one side to the other, his toes scrunched up in his boots.

Optimistic and mysterious, Story's most noticeable trait is her wanderlust. She loves traveling more than anything, and has traveled most of Equestria.
Story Rhyme is also somewhat musically inclined, mostly vocals and lyrical work, but she is quick to get a feel for most basic instruments. Her talent is being a traveling bard, telling stories and singing ballads of adventure or romance, or comedy or tragedy.
She seldom stays anywhere for longer than a week or two, and gets restless easily.
