Waking up to the crack of dawn, I silently urge myself to return to sleep. The early morning sun just seemed to happy for such a grim age we're in. In protest, i roll over onto my stomach and flop the soft, cushy pillow over my head.

As the sun came out, John's eyes slowly opened. He looked up at the ceiling and just stared at it. His mind was blank, and he forgot where he was for a moment, but then the realization crashed and he sighed. He licked his dry lips slowly and turned his head to look at the wall before he slowly sat up and turned so that his legs fell off the couch and his feet touched the ground. He rubbed his face and let his head rest in his hands.
