I have about 40 pages left. I've been meaning to read 1984, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

We're reading Animal Farm and The Great Gatsby in school soon...has anyone read them/what did they think?

I enjoyed Great Gatsby, but we had to talk about whether Gatsby was or wasn't a Christ figure, and that ruined it for me. It was a good read though, fairly easy. I enjoyed the twists of the story. I really couldn't predict what happened in the book, so I thought that was nice.

I just got The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda. I liked the first book, so I'm excited for the weekend to start reading. Has anybody else read the series?

@HeartofCoal
We're reading it in history class, so I don't think we'll have that kind of discussions about it. We'll probably just talk about the history in the 1920's. At least I hope so, because I don't like discussing non-existent metaphors in books :P

@Electra Heart
I really liked Animal Farm. We read it in school, but no one else "got" it. During the Russian Revolution PowerPoint, hey were literally asking questions about the "kuh-zar". They just weren't ready for it. It was very good, though. If you like Animal Farm and Fahrenheit 451, I think that you'll enjoy 1984.

Top Ten Favorite Books: Ohh, SO HARD!! By the way, these aren't in any particular order for me, except which ones I think of first:
1. Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus [series]
2. Deltora Quest [series]
3. Harry Potter [series]
4. Mortal Instruments (perhaps Infernal Device as well, but I haven't been able to read a copy of one as of late) [series]
5. Stravaganza [series]
6. The Hunger Games [series]
7. The Looking Glass Wars
8. Inheritance (Eragon) [series]
9. Anne of Green Gables
10. Ruby Redfort [series]
Average amount of time it takes you to finish a book: Usually under a week, but this depends on the number of pages (usually 300-500 pgs) and the level of interest.
How many of the above symptoms you regularly experience: 5. Those are so funny!

Does anyone know of any really good historical fiction about World War 1? I'm not looking for anything in a specific country, but I just want to read some books about the era.

Meh that's okay, I know WWI historical fiction is hard to find :P At least here in the US, because we were more involved in WW2.
I suppose I'll just have to make do by watching Downton Abbey xD
