I believe the old line-art is what made those pets special and unique and showed their antiquity.
I feel like this is taking antique jewelry and melting it down to blend in with today's modern jewelry so it won't stand out and be special anymore.
Chicken Smoothie history all down the drain...
I also believe this is a HUGE disrespect to the original artists.
If there is nothing special about collecting old, antique, retired forms of pets then I may just quit Chicken Smoothie.
I love collecting all the different versions and the fact that they will now all be the same just ruins the entire point of the website.
Yeah, they have different coat patterns but so what?
The changing line-art over time is the only reason I have continued to use Chicken Smoothie when I quit all other adoption sites.
Looks like I'll now be quitting Chicken Smoothie, too.
There is nothing exciting or fun about conformity.
What a massive disappointment.

There's no reason to quit CS over changes to ONE species. There are still plenty of other retired linearts out there, like the Malk Dogs, Dragons, older cat Linearts [including "Warrior Cats"], and Tess' Linearts. Don't forget the fish, too!

The change is due to legal issues, they'd have to change the lines no matter what. The Unicorns and Zebras are getting their own, unique lines as well, and those are still very rare here on CS.

Adding to this Malk's draft horses will not be changed, so some of that old line-art will be saved.

On top of that, some of the changes are not hugely noticeable. Except maybe a few more details and eer less long shy mane. And some of the shading.

I edited before anyone could read it.
"At the very least, you could make NEW line-art for the old pets instead of just conforming them to the new line-art.
Let them keep their uniqueness! If you're going to have to take the time to re-do them then at least give them their own unique line-art so they will still be different."

Raven of Shadows; It's enough reason for anyone. It can be upsetting, and mind you that horses and ponies are two major species of Chicken Smoothie. Sure, you can understand the reasoning behind the change, but that doesn't mean it can't upset someone and make them want to stop playing. A lot of users hoarded the old lineart horses and ponies and such, which means many people overpayed for the equinmagine line pets. Don't try to discredit someone's concerns by saying it's not reason enough, just because it doesn't seem like a reason to you.

Exactly what I have been saying.... but since they have already switched over so many it is probably too late :(
It saddens me

What was once tainted and stolen is now righted and refined. I'm glad the change went through.

I'm not trying to "discredit" someone's concerns, jeez people, stop twisting my words! All I'm saying is that there are still old linearts out there that won't go away, the the Malk Drafts that Gingerfrost brought up, along with quite a few other original linearts.

I sorta agree with Devilkitty on the old horses getting a new lineart. I'm on neither side for this debate, just stating that they have to change it, though the lineart they change it to is basicly their choice.

Again, you can understand the change behind it, but that doesn't mean you can't be upset over it. Whether the old lineart was "tainted" and the changed pets "refined" is completely subjective.

However, what is not subjective about the old lineart is that it WAS stolen.

Then don't say that their reasoning for quitting is not a reason. There's no right or wrong reaction to the transformation project.

What is wrong is over-reacting to the change and wanting the stolen line-art to stay. What is right is accepting that it's being done after debating on it behind the curtains. I understand your sorrow, anger or w/e about it, but answer yourself this question. If you owned the site and had to make a quick decision about correcting the wrong, would you go ahead and do it or allow it to remain and suffer the consequences?

Windi, no one is questioning why it had to be done. People can be upset by this change even though the reasoning behind it is perfectly sound. It's still changing something that was once loved by someone. Clearly you don't understand anyone else's "sorrow or whatever".

The vast majority of those who are upset UNDERSTAND why it is being done and ACCEPT that... we just wish that instead of the old designs going into the current lines they could have gone into an edited version of the common line with even a small line edit (raised tail for example) so that they could have kept a small bit of the unique feel they had.
