Soo I'm having to reduce my colony before I get overwhelmed. Looking for homes for my retired/pet only bubs.. I've had interest but it was from someone I refuse to adopt to after seeing the condition And aggression her rats are in/have.

Also, I'm having to give my capped double rex I got last week back. Turns out the bugger is preggers! Luckily my friend doesn't mind and the more babies the merrier for her. I also have to give up my male mice.. terrible accident happened between the boys and I have to put Peabodi down later today.. bringin' him to my friends to be pts and pick up my bearded dragon.. alsooo gonna see, since I'll have the spare cage, if I can nab one of her english mice (hopefully a hairless) as strictly pet-only. Preferably male since I seriously love the boys.. ;-;

Last but not least, Naomi is HUGE! She's due in a week and a half and already looks like she's about to pop.. gonna be a huuuuge litter.. >.< argh.. also I still don't have internet. Won't for another week most likely soo I'm using my phone.. once I do I'll get updated photos of my colonies. ^^

I think I walked in on a little dominance ritual. They were like standing up slapping eachother with those stubby little arms. They stopped and went back to their usual excited frolicking when they noticed me, but should I be doing something?

Bug scared the crap out of a lady today. We're currently on a 5-6 hour car trip so when she stopped for the half way mark, I let my cat get on the ground and streach her legs, then I got Baze out and gave him a cuddle, but when I got Bug out he was running up and down my shirt then he'd cuddle in my hands for a minute before running again.

So anyways this guy and his kid walked past us, and the dad pointed out that I had Bug in my hands so the kid was kind of stopped and looking at him. The guys wife walked around right about the time Bug went from my hand up to rest on my arm. She jumped like a foot in the other direction when she saw that Bug was a rat. It was pretty funny.

ShadiSin, how many ratties do you have right now? Are you continuing breeding despite this?

Vohain, I wouldn't worry about it lol. They do have little fights like that and the "boxing" isn't generally something to worry about.

Delilah is starting to get some reddish rashes on her and I'm getting kind of worried! I don't know if she has allergies, 'cause she's sneezing too, or has a parasite or something... I already plan on taking her to the vet to get it checked out, but does anyone else on here know what it might be and if it's serious enough to take her to the vet?

Delilah is starting to get some reddish rashes on her and I'm getting kind of worried! I don't know if she has allergies, 'cause she's sneezing too, or has a parasite or something... I already plan on taking her to the vet to get it checked out, but does anyone else on here know what it might be and if it's serious enough to take her to the vet?

It could easily be parasites of some kind. My boys had lice and it was irritating enough to them that they kept having sneezing fits. The vet gave them some meds and their sneezing and stuff cleared up quickly after that. I'd say take her to the vet just to be safe.

I have twenty three total. But, I feel over 30 is too much so I'm trying not to even get to that point.

Yes, I am still breeding. I have people already on my future pairs list. I have discontinued a few planned lines, and will not be starting any new ones anytime soon.

I have my hairless male for adoption, as he is too shy for breeding and I feel the colony life isn't for him. He needs more one on one time.

As for the trio of gals, I already have someone interested whom may take all three. He's also adopting two girls from my litter that is due in a few days. With the girls, they're younger and just not good for my breeding plans (the mese apparently has aggression in her lines, the fawn is too skittish/nervous and Beryl.. well, she's just Beryl. colony life isn't for her.. she prefers her one-on-one time more than being with the others. lesser rats = more time for her alone which makes her happy). I can't keep every rat or I WOULD become overwhelmed. I am only looking for their best interest and I would appreciate it if this was not talked about further. I want each of my rats as happy as possible, is all. Plus each adopter, even out-of-state ones, keep me updated/talk to me almost daily.

My dad keeps wanting to share her tea with the ratties, but her tea is caffeinated so she's not entirely sure if its safe for them. Can rats have caffeine?

Naomi looks like she has swallowed a large grapefruit. This is going to be a HUGE litter.. she still has three days to go! Goodness..

iiiin other news. my entire life i've worn black because of my weight. lately i've felt like being bright and have been wearing brighter colors.. so I want to brighten my ratties cages as well.. I already have some color combos in mind. <3
