They are pixels on a pet site. Why are people getting upset about the fact that they're changing? It's not like you spent money on them, or really invested anything at all.

Since many of the older images have been copied from photos, we can't really maintain an official collection of them on the site. You're more than welcome to save the old images to your computer, or make you own archive website to show other CS users how they used to look. However - note that your own archive website could also be at risk of removal for copyright infringement if the photographers (whose images were copied) decided to report it.

Will the new pictures be added to the name guide? like the Malk guide?

The name guides are run by normal members and not by staff, but I suppose they will be.

Exactly, Who should really care what lines they're in? Its still the same pet with the same worth. The worlds not going to end because of a simple lineart change.

...Because many people liked/loved the old lines. Now they seem more plain, not worth as much to the people who spent a long time collecting them. Change is not always easy no matter what it is.

the only thing i will say is i NEVER even knew there was a poll at all. there was not even a single mention about this in the news (the one on the front page) am actually kinda disappointed about the lack of communication. as i get on to collect not really read the forums.
i only even knowticed this cause someone requested a trade with me for one of the ones that was changed, and i was confused (not upset or angry) at where it came form and found that there was a user poll that wasn't even clearly broadcasted.

I wonder how many would be saying this if it was decided to move the Warrior Cats over to the new cat lines...

The fact is that the people who play the game with the horses as their favorite pets are feeling sad that the variety of poses and unique positions are going away and being replaced with a single variation. The dogs have so many line art edits (ears up, down, one ear up, sad face, happy face, curly tail, straight tail, bob tail, three tails, etc) that it can be argued that if the old lines had to be removed (which we all accept) it could have been done with a few simple line edits so that the older horses and ponies would have kept their unique 'flavor' without blending into the herd.

My biggest fear (in actuality) is that (especially with the natural color horses and ponies) there might come an issue on the Dec 18th re-releases one day where people will not be able to tell if that rare they are trading for was a 2009 or a 2012 re-release (same rarity) because they are so alike. A line edit with the older horses having raised tails and older ponies having a line edit as well, would and could keep those issues from cropping up.

Niely put, both of you. I couldn't think of anything good to reply with, but you two did.

Of course they didn't make a news post, that would makes like 99x more people come. I wondered why at first, but there was so many arguments and rude people, so I see why they didn't. But it was stickied, if anyone went to the forums they'd most likely see it. Or even went to their user board. There was even stuff concerning it in signatures, but I get what you're saying, not enough people saw it.
