With us it depends what school we're in and what year. Grades 8-9 have the blue polo shirt and shorts, or rather, the sports uniform, 10-12 have the formal uniform, white, button down shirt/blouse, with they grey shorts/skirt or formall pants. Then the blazers are left for the seniors who are part of the student council or other stuff like that. The ties, you're expected to wear them once you're in grade ten, yeah, I'm not going to.

The high school in my area, you just wear a blue shirt with the school logo and black shorts.
Girls used to have to wear dresses though, but that changed a while ago.

ive never had uniforms at school. although, back in both primary and high school, we had "colour codes". all you had to dress in was the colours that the school allocated as the "colour code". they were very lenient about it, too. as long as there was no big and/or offensive logos on the clothes and it met safety standards it was all good.

although, the high school i went to recently changed their policy so that the students have to wear the school shirts. i graduated the year before they implemented that, though.

college (year 11 and 12) and uni have no uniforms of course.

i did go to public school though. the private schools have actual uniforms here for all grades i think.

since i live in the ACT and its a weird schooling system here (although i actually really like our system compared to the rest of the country). we have completely different schools for year 11 and 12.
primary is K-6
high is 7-10
college is 11-12
uni is post year 12

All the schools I have seen in Australia have uniforms though, your lucky :) I used to go to a public school with a really laid back uniform with a pretty polo shirt, skirts, tracksuit pants, shorts and stuff but now I go to a private school and its quite strict.

Heheh, most of the public schools here have polo shirts and shorts. But I go to a private school (It's actually more common to go to a private school here than public school o.O) And most of the private schools here have a blouse, skirt, tie, jumper blazer and those shoes (e.e) from year 1 to year 12.

My year is going to Canberra with our brother school in july! I'm so excited!! I haven't been to Canberra in ages! And then we get to go skiing!! So excited!!
