Creatures of the Night

I'm sure you have all heard of the tales and stories of Werewolves. Creatures said to be 7 feet tall, have razor sharp claws, piercing canines, long snouts and highly sensetive noses with ears like rador scanners and rip any man to shreads at first glimpse. Thought only to come every full moon and bring terror on the local people for that one night. After this one evening, the wolf turns back to it's human form the following morning and live like any other human being would without remembering what had happened previously. Well I'm happy to tell you that this is all myth. You will find alot more than Werewolves in this forest.
This forest is found in New Zealand and is practically uninhabited by man kind. It makes a lovely spot for a picnic in the morning and afternoon and you would have thought to see people with their children, running around with the family dog and eating sandwiches. But that is not the story here. People fear to step one foot in this forest because if they do, they could be violently attacked by the creatures who lurk behind every tree, under every stone and are always watching. Waiting for the right opportunity to strike.
The people here have said to have made sightings of large black figures at night, prowling in the distance. Some claimed to be Werewolves and you know what, they probably were but I must warn you that you get alot more than Werewolves lurking in this forest...

RPing Rules

Every RP has them

1. This is Semi Literate to Literate so ATLEAST one paragraph of text which I would say is about 4-5 lines.
2. Please use my form and my form only.
3. Please respect the other rpers or you will be banned.
4. I can't be bothered with so many chances so break any rule and you're out.
5. I will want a mini-mod which I will be picking later in the rp. Do NOT ask to be my mini-mod or the answer will be certainly be no.
6. Please use correct grammar and punctuation.
7. Put thought into your posts. Include thoughts, feelings etc, not just actions.
8. If you read my rules, please say 'Creatures of the Night' in any colour somewhere on your form.
9. Please PM me your form, that way I don't lose it. You don't have to but it is prefered.
10. Unlimited charries just don't go over board.
11. Please keep genders even.
12. Keep the packs even.
13. All of Tesses rules apply.
14. If you feel your character is being ignored then don't just say so, it's probably because you have put your character in a position where nobody can talk to them.
15. I have the right to ban you, add rules or not accept you in the first place.
16. The young of the pack are children and turn into pups/cubs etc.
17. If a character has a child, just rp it at 6 years old in human years or older so we don't have loads of helpess human babies but rp it as a pup or cub etc when it is at night.
18. Remember that when they are humans and it is daylight, most of them will be sleeping.
19. This is just as a reminder but only I say if it is sunlight or nighttime ok? I'll keep everyone up to date so they know to be in human form or animal form.
20. Please no pictures! I want very detailed personalities and descriptions.
21. When you describe your characters human looks, they wear their usual clothes. For example, jeans a t-shirt and trainers but obviously alot more detailed.

The Forest Code

Be sure not to break this or it could be punishable by death

1. The alphas of the pack should be highly respected and always obeyed.
2. Betas are sceond in command so they too must be obeyed.
3. You may have friends from the other packs but your loyalty remains with your own and you may have to fight you friends in battle.
4. Never break the Forest Code or any of the rules given by your alphas or it could be punishable by excile and even death.
5. Never ignore any rule given by the alphas or you could suffer the consequences.
6. Pack comes first no matter what the circumstances.
7. Never go into the other packs territory unless it is a full moon.
8. Love between packs if forbidden, so is the love for a healer.
9. A pack should never abandon another pack member whether it sickness or old age or just too weak.
10. Stay loyal and faithful to your pack and never lie to your alphas.

The Creatures of the Forest

Each creature lives a different life

The Werewolves
Werewolves look like humans during the day but don't leave the woods, they stay to help the pack and talk about what they would do the following evening. These Werewolves don't turn into wolves every full moon, it's actually every night as soon as the sun has completely vanished. Werewolves are the most social and caring members of the forest.
When they transform, the Werewolves don't turn into some ugly, ferocious beast that looks like a wolf on two legs and man-like features. They become complete wolves on four paws, the traditional long snout, sharp teeth and a highly sensetive sense of smell, sight and excellent hearing. The fur colouring and markings of the Werewolves are never the same and each pattern and colours are unique to that wolf.
Each wolf, like humans have totally different personalities and likes and dislikes. No two wolves like the same thing and feel the same way about something. A wolf spends great pride in it's pack and will never let it down or distrust it.
The Werewolves are superb hunters and very rarely come back from a hunt empty-handed. They don't just jump into an attack when they see a prey animal, they come up with a well devised plan to bring down their prey. Depending on the pack size, Werewolves will hunt anything between mice and rabbits if the numbers are low but will hunt much larger prey if the numbers are high like deer and boar.
People often think Werewolves attack humans without warning but they don't. If anything, they try and avoid humans at all costs. If they do come face to face with a human, they will show no aggression but will stand in a defence position showing the human they won't harm but they might if they take any steps closer. If the human doesn't back off then the wolf will growl angrily, their fur bristled as a sign of attack. If the human is still not deterred then the wolf has only one option and that is to fight. The wolf will try not to seriously harm the man but in some cases the man will end up dead. If this happens then the wolf will drag the body under a tree, away from any public areas and leave it, not wanting any other humans to know that it was a Werewolf that killed it. Humans don't know what to believe if some one finds a mangled body covered in claw marks and bite marks so their only option to believe is that a wolf did it which gives the Werewolves the terrifying name of 'Man eater' eventhough they do not eat the humans they might kill.
Despite a Werewolf's gruesome reputation, they are actually very social and fun loving animals.

The Werebears
Werebears, like the Werewolves, appear human aslong as the sun is up. As soon as it goes down they become large, ferocious bears. Werebears are the most aggressive and vicious members of the forest and you really don't want to make one angry. Unlike wolves, they won't try and scare you off first, they will jump right into an attack. Their worst enemy is the humans but then again, the goes for all the packs and animals. They will stand on their huge, strong back legs, roar loudly and charge towards their prey without thinking a plan through first. They do this with tresspassers and intruders also and even an animal they think threatening.
Because of a Werebear's huge size, it makes them probably the clumsiest animal in the wood. It isn't very hard to make a Werebear angry and you really don't want to be the person that did it or you will have to suffer the consequences. That consequence usually being death. If a Werebear kills a human which is most probably not an accident, they don't hide it like the Werewolves, they simply drag it back to the camp and eat it. Although they appear cute and cuddly when not baring their teeth, you still really don't want to go and pet it. The bears are easily distracted aswell though and easily fooled so if you do happen to be in the way of a raging Werebear, the best idea is to come up with a plan that will confuse him or distract him.
Eventhough they are bulky and muscular, they are actually rather bad hunters so they tend to go for larger prey animals like moose or large deer. They have excellent hearing and an outstanding sense of smell but they have very poor eye sight, making their sense of sound and smell extra sensetive.
The colouring and markings of a Werebear can also vary, some may be a dark shade of brown, some may be a light shade of grey or even white. Although white bears in the forest is very rare. All Werebears have the same small eyes, small rounded ears and long, dog-like snout. They also have the same sharp claws and razor sharp teeth which they use for hunting and attacking. Most bears have long, thick fur making them very adapted to the cold winters and the fur, like most mamals of the forest, is grown out and is replaced with a thinner, cooler coat suitable for the warm, dry summers.
Werebears are phenomenal swimmers and love to take a dip in the nearest stream or lake. Unlike the other forest creatures, they enjoy swimming and usually go into the water for a cool down and the cubs of the pack love to splash and play in it. They also take to water so they can get away from other animals, usually a larger bear or even a forest fire which does sometimes occur though it is very rare.

The Werepanthers
Werepanthers are large cats which also transform into a human when the sun comes up and return to their panther form as soon as it dissapears. Most Werepanthers have jet black fur but with leopard-like rossetts scattered on their body but they are faded and almost impossible to see. Werepanthers have large, razor-like claws and incredibly impressive canines which make perfect weapons for hunting and fighting if needed.
The panthers are probably the most secretive animal found here and always prefer to keep to themselves. They hunt on their own unlike the wolves who hunt as a team, bringing back medium sized prey. Usually a deer fawn or large hare. Because of their small prey, they go hunting alot more frequently, each panther will hunt atleast three animals a day on average which keeps the pack going for another day until the sun goes down and they hunt again.
Unlike the Werebears, Werepanthers loathe water as much as they hate the humans and will do anything they can to avoid it. They only come to the water's edge to drink and wash, but they usually wash themselves with their tongues so washing with water isn't really a problem. The Werepanthers do enjoy climbing though and are the best climbers in the whole forest. Spending most of their time up in the trees, surveying the territory, they hardly find it necessary to come to the Earth's floor unless to hunt but they even try and do that in the trees. Prowling until they spot prey and pouncing fro the tall tree branches, landing almost every time on their target. The Werepanthers basically sleep, eat and spend all their time up in the trees.
The size of the pack of the Werepanthers is considerably smaller as to those of the Werewolves which have the largest packs, and even the Werebears so this is another reason as to why they don't need to hunt prey animals as large as those of the Werebears and don't have to hunt as much as the Werewolves.
The panthers also aren't as social as the Werewolves but they do respect their pack and do whatever they can to help it and make sure there is peace in the pack. The panthers aren't as vicious and as violent as the Werebears and prefer not to attack but they will if made to and are more willing to attack than the Werewolves. They will try and scare off their enemy first with a loud, terrifying roar and a snarl and if the enemy still hasn't left, they will unsheathe their claws and pounce, just as if they were prey. Unlike the Werebears and like the Werewolves, they don't eat the humans they kill but unlike the wolves, they just leave the body where it is, not thinking to drag it into the nearest bush or under the nearest tree.

The Territories

Where you call home

The Werewolf Pack - The Long Tooths
The Werewolves territory is alot more rocky and high up than the other pack territories and is up in the mountains which is why their fur is thicker as most mountains are topped with snow and ice. Avalanches can occur in these areas but the wolves camp is at the bottom of the mountain so if one does happen then they will have more time to get away before it affects them.
The trees around the bottom of the mountain are very tall but very thin making them difficult to climb so are unsuitable for the Werepanthers. There are alot of rocks and boulders scattered over the area and is very beautiful during the day but sinister at night which is when the Werewolves go on the prowl.
There is a large lake at the very bottom of the mountains which attracts alot of animals that the wolves like to prey on. The lake is one of the wolves' favourite places to hunt as it is always attracting many tasty visitors that would make an outstanding midnight meal.
As the Werewolves live in the cliffs and mountains, they are very nimble and rarely fall or stumble. Their prey is also nimble which usually includes mountain goats and small deer.

The Werebear Pack - The Heavy Paws
The Werebears territory is alot lower down than the Werewolves and has no mountains but does have big hills and raised terrain. The hills and grasslands are alot more open with smaller trees and alot more shrubbery which their favourite prey, moose love to eat.
There is a long, wide river running straight through the middle of the grasslands which also attracts plenty of prey animals and they enjoy hunting there and also taking a swim. When the bears do go for a swim, the animals try hard to avoid the river incase the bears may still be hungry as they usually was after they eat.
There are still plenty of rocks and pebbles in the area and right in the centre is a cluster of tall trees with wide branches that they call their home. It acts as a camp and they return there every morning, just before the sun goes up and sleep.

Werepanther Territory - The Silent Steps
The Werepanthers territory is the smallest and is more like a jungle than an actual forest. It has a very dense atomsphere with tall trees with very strong branches that are perfect for climbing. It is alot darker here as the trees are so packed together that they let very little light in, even during the day when the sun is high up in the sky and is at it's brightest.
Due to the trees being so close together, it is probably the hottest and most humid part of the forest and at night becomes incredibly misty. The Werepanthers have amazing eye sight so the dark area and the mist isn't really a bother for them.
There are plenty of small streams that run through this forest area which is actually more like a rainforest or jungle because of how dense it is. The panthers will still try and avoid these thin streams and only come to them to drink.

Which Pack do you belong?

What the Ranks are
Alpha Male - The Alpha Male is leader of the pack and what ever he says, goes. If anyone disobeys him, there will be trouble. The Alpha Male is mates with the Alpha Female.
Alpha Female - The Alpha Female has the same power as the Alpha Male and whatever is said by her also goes. The alpha pair can give new rules or give new tasks to the pack but aby desicion made has to be consulted between the two of them.
Beta Male - The Beta Male is like second in command and when the Alpha Male dies, he takes his place as the new Alpha.
Beta Female - The Beta female is like a smaller Alpha Female and when she passes away, she becomes the new Alpha Female. Beta Male and Female aren't always mates but are when they are both Alpha.
Delta Male - Delta Male is the animal training to become Beta Male when the current Beta either dies or becomes Alpha.
Delta Female - Delta Female is the animal in training to become Beta Female.
Sentinels - Sentinels watch and patrol the territory, keeping an eye out for any intruders and if they meet any, they learn why they are here and get them to leave if the reason is not acceptable.
Elders - Elders are the more experienced members and were probably Alpha or Beta when they were younger. They tend to give advice to the younger pack members, including the Alphas.
Hunters - These members do most of the hunting, leaving in small groups or as individuals to find food for the pack.
Caretakers - Caretakers look after and make sure other packmembers aren't falling behind and help them when they are ill or injured. They act as healers.
Omegas - The Omegas are the lowest ranking members of the pack and are still learning about pack life. They are probably new to the pack and are still young. They are usually between 12-17 human years and look about 1 or 2 in animal years.
Young Sitters - Young Sitters look after and raise the babies of the pack. They are usually mothers of the young or closesly related to the mother. Usually females are Young Sitters.
Young - The young of the pack and are under 18 months old in animal years, about 9-10 in human years.

Personality: Akalia is a really stubborn person and will only do what she wants to do unless told differently by the Alphas or the Betas and they are the only members of the pack she will obey. Otherwise she listens to no one and goes by her rules and her rules only. Akalia hates being called Akalia and insists that everyone calls her Kali, even if they've just met they must call her Kali and if they don't they'll have to be very very careful. The only people she allows to call her Akalia are again the Alphas and Betas who she has amazing respect for and will never let them down and always wants to prove herself that she can be a good hunter, a good fighter and maybe one day, a good leader. Besides her stubbornness and hot temper, she is actually a very fun, loving person who just wants to be liked by everyone. She isn't really the flirty type and appears as more of a Tom-boy than a actual young woman when in human form. She does someday wish for a mate but at the moment she is fine how things are.

Human Looks: Akalia has mid-length hair that goes just below her shoulders. It is very dark brown, almost black and is quite spikey, adding to her Tom-boy nature. She is actually a very attractive young woman with her sapphire blue eyes and neatly brushed hair. She isn't very tall and some would say she is under average for her age at just about 5 foot 2inches. She usually wears a dark purple and white chequed shirt with rolled up sleeves usually when she is not wearing her grey hooded jacket with a pink skulls scattered all over it. She has black skinny jeans with a blue belt with another skull in the middle as the buckle. This goes with her grey and dark blue converses. She is slender and very beautiful. This makes her appear not only Tom-boyish but a little bit Gothic aswell as she wears a pink and black bow in her hair and has a side fringe. She wears a crescent moon necklace and a wolf charm bracelet.
Animal Looks: Kali's wolf form has a very white underbelly and white paws. The top coat is a light hazel kind of colour that darkens to a dark brown towards her back and down her tail. The wolf also has the same sapphire blue eyes and makes her appear as a very stunning she-wolf.

She may be shy but JJ is an excellent hunter, being one of the best in her pack. She loves to hunt spends most of her time either hunting or climbing trees, seeing how high she can get. She can usually be seen wearing a regular t-shirt (black is most common) and dark blue jeans. She is always wearing jeans of some sort, and flip-flops or converse.
Animal Looks: A smallish wolf with black fur and dark gray flecks along her neck, trailing down her back. Her wolf's eyes are green, like hers.
Other: She is slightly smaller than most werewolves are as a canine, but that makes her all the more feisty.

Human Looks: As a human Noah has shaggy chocolate brown hair that is usually messy and unkempt. He has grey blue eyes, that seem to look deep inside of you if he locks his gaze with yours. He doesn't let his eyes portray any emotion, which is a good asset in a fight or stare down. Noah stands just a few inches shy of six feet tall at five foot ten. He has a few freckles across his nose during the height of the summer season, but other wise his skin is moderately tanned from being in the woods all of his life. Noah usually just wears a t-shirt, jeans, his black Converse, and a sweatshirt if it gets cold. He doesn't care much about how he looks on the outside, he cares about what people or like on the inside.
Animal Looks: As a wolf Noah has the same fur colour as his hair colour as a human. His fur isn't as shaggy as his human hair, but is still a bit longer than normal. He has a white spot on his chest and the fur on the inside of his ears is a bit lighter as well. Noah still has the same slate blue eyes as a wolf.

How many ways can you say creep? Well, just saying his name is one. Matthew is an incredibly strange creature even for a werebear. He has a taste for human flesh and he is rather fond of playing with his food. He is that dark malevolent gaze you feel when your back is turned. He is that rustle in the bush that you convince yourself is the wind. And most importantly, he is the living nightmare that you cannot wake up from. Being a werebear, he is far from silent once he attacks, but otherwise he’s the type to crash through the trees without speaking a word. He’ll glare at you for any reason, no matter how small. He’s not anti-social to the point of alienation from his pack, but it is enough to keep most away from him. The most any werebear can hope to get out of him is a grunt or shrug. He does defend his Pack rather well. Any of his kind in danger can guarantee to have his fiercest defense.
Inside his burly, clumpsy, outer shell lays a vicious killer who’s well known now for his relentless powerful attacks. The reason for this behavior? Let’s just say he wasn’t the favorite cub.
He can be docile, even shy, around the higher ranks. Do not be fooled by this disguise. He is not a cute and cuddly bear.

On top of his twisted little head his a mop of shaggy blond hair. He is clothed only in a torn black long-sleeved shirt and torn black slacks.

Don’t screw with me!

Any feline within a hundred mile radius had better watch for this one. She keeps her pride in check. The only mistakes she tolerates are from cubs, and disobedience against the orders of the Alphas or herself is worthy of physical discipline. She’s got that natural air of natural authority, and the will to discipline any who step out of line. Of course, in a male dominated culture, there’s only so much power a female can have. But she works her power well and pushes limits, which leaves her pride to wonder when she’ll go too far. She’s been wise enough to know when to stop thus far. She has the wisdom of one much older than herself. And she has just as much ambition as any male, this leads to her growing frustration at the limits to her rank.

Love thy pride, eliminate thy enemies.

Sasha has a special bond with her pride. Although she can be harsh on them, she feels a strong connection with every member. She looks out for them all, sometimes just watching them to know they are safe. Her attitude does not alienate her as much as one might think. She is always involved in Pride Activity, and is often genuinely happy for other members whenever they receive good news.

This werepanther watches borders like a hawk. She hates the other pride and packs on principal alone and no excuse is a valid one for setting paw on Silent Step Territory. Any intruders she sees, she will attack with intent to kill, even pups and cubs. Nature is cruel and if it will weaken her enemies at all, she’s willing to become that necessary cruelty.

Unfortunately, she has not found that male. She has battled winter after winter every male that has tried to mate her. She always fights her hardest, holding nothing back. Most leave for an easier target, not ever really wanting her in the first place. She was just a challenge for them.

Someone I can respect who will respect me...Who will understand that I do not wish to be protected and pampered...Who will know that I am forever the guardian of my Pride…But who am I trying to fool? She has truly sun kissed skin. Her skin is smooth and caramel tan. All marks and scars invisible, hidden by her clothing. She dresses comfortably, but tightly enough to hug the slight curves in her figure. A slender creature she is, but not at the expense of her womanly features. Her high brow is accentuated by her slicked back raven hair. Her intelligent but warm brown eyes beneath her sharply arched eyebrows capture the attention of most beings. Though her face may appear soft and gentle, it has the capacity to show her utmost fury and the wrath that any creature may invoke if they rub her the wrong way.

Panther Looks:

The beautiful womanly body suggests nothing of her literal inner beauty. Inside she is this! A gorgeous midnight black panther that stretches a full eight foot seven inches from nose to tail tip. As a werecat, she keeps the outline of that slender feminine form, but the short, soft, black fur coats her entire body. Her eyes which were a deep rich earthy brown grow pale, a near even mix of yellow and green. From her forehead to her silver-whiskered muzzle is a gentle slope, giving her that innocent, large kitty look. But her long pearly fangs will shatter that illusion quickly. As will her massive claws above those plushy pink pads on the bottoms of her feet. Her rounded ears are unmarred, which is a miracle for a werecat who’s been through so many battles.

Rosette loves to people-watch, making files about everyone around her in her mind, adding and subtracting as needed to make a perfect profile of anyone she meets, which can be disconcerting, as she stares very blatently at her subject for long periods of time.

She has pale skin, rosy cheeks, and naturally vibrant red lips. Her nose and ears are small, off-set by her large eyes and full lips, giving her an almost doll-like appearance. Her body frame is rather petite, and she's only five feet tall. She's of average bust, and she's slightly curvy, but with such a slight frame, a feminine figure is hard to attain. She has 'piano' fingers (fingers longer than the palm, useful for people who play the piano.), and wears one ring on each pinkie finger, the right one made out of pure sapphire carved into a ring shape, the other made of cheep metal with the words 'Verum Decus Veneratio' which is Latin for 'Truth Dignaty Honor'. She always wears a necklace made out of a blue dyed leather cord with a turquoise stone at the end.
Animal Looks: Her fur is a shade lighter than normal, making it easier to see her rosettes, thus, her name. She has yellow eyes with thin green lines looping around, making a Celtic knot around her pupils. She is disporportional, her paws and ears too large for her body, hinting at her youth. Her tail was broken when she was younger, and it wasn't set correctly, so the top inch and a half of her tail is slightly crooked.
