John nodded slowly. He looked down at his sunglasses and began to fiddle with them. "I used to sit out in the backyard with my sister. We'd both lay down in the grass and look up at the clouds and make shapes and figures out of them. I know it sounds corny, and it doesn't really sound like much, but... Those were honestly the best times of my life. I didn't have a care in the world... Everything was simple, or at least simpler...." He shook his head and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Exactly! Im just shocked at how fast the world can go down hill...I mean since I was seven my life has been a peice of crap. And now were to this..." With glazed eyes I lay my head atop my crossed arms on the table. Sighing lightly I look back towards him, still whatching and studying how he really looks without all the stuff on.

"Yeah..." John's mind was starting to think back to the days before the apocalypse, and he just couldn't handle it. Slowly, he stood up and put his sunglasses on and his hat. "I think I'm gonna go to sleep. It's late and... Yeah. I'll take the couch so you can have the guest bedroom. Night." Slowly, he turned around and walked out of the kitchen and went into the living room and sat on the couch as he rubbed his face.

Jumping up I quickly walk into the living room after john. "No! You should have the bedroom, you slept on the couch last night anyways..." I say from the doorway, leaning against the dooor jam. Combing a hand through my hair, I move over to the couch and sit on the arm of the couch by his feet.

"Nah, I'm used to sleeping on the couch. Honestly. It's okay." John told her as he laid down and closed his eyes. "I'm more used to the couch anyways. Plus, I like being closer to the doors, that way if anything breaks in, I can deal with it faster."

"You sure?" I ask with a slight chuckle, galncing at the door, and back to him. I poke his foot jokingly before moving into a stretch.

John smirked lightly. "Yeah, I'm sure." He said with a slow nod, and then a yawn.

"Don't do th..." I pause and yawn smileing," don't yawn, it contagious!" I say with a laugh, pulling my self up off the couch arm. Taking a few steps towards the hall I stop and look back stretching. "Night!" I turn back and walk to the guest bedroom, plopping down on the bed. Within minutes of covering myself with the covers Im asleep.

John smiled and sighed as she left. He looked up at the ceiling and put one arm behind his head as he thought. So many things were running through his head, and he couldn't get them to stop. He thought about the past. The people he used to know, used to care about, and used to love. He thought about things he used to do, the good and the bad. Things he took for granted, and things he'd die to get back.
